
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department.
March 30: A package went missing from Coolidge Hill Road. It contained two bottles of perfume valued at $500. Police are investigating.
March 31: A Brookline Street resident received an alert of some unauthorized withdrawals from their checking account. Someone made five withdrawals in November and December for a total of $360.
March 31: A woman was stopped at Target after taking $369 in merchandise. Givannah Puerto, 19 of Waltham, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
April 1: A worker at the Watertown Housing Authority contacted police after a woman yelled at him and then thew a chair at him and picked it up and struck him with the chair. Officers responded and saw a woman walking quickly down Warren Avenue. They stopped her and advised her she was being placed under arrest. When they tried to take her into custody she wriggled away, and then began spitting at officers. She hit one officer in the eyes and mouth, and a second on the chest and neck. Claudia Benson, 31 of Watertown, was arrested on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
April 2: An officer patrolling in Arsenal Yards ran the plates of a vehicle that just arrived and parked. The query found that the registration was revoked and the owner’s license was suspended. The driver came back and drove away. Officer Frank Forde pulled the driver over and confirmed he was the owner. Oscar Villa, 24 of Brighton, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
April 2: A Warren Avenue resident received a call from someone claiming to be from Bank of America and told her that the bank was trying to cash a Publisher’s Clearinghouse check for $7,000. The resident gave her name, date of birth, Social Security Number, and account number. She felt uncomfortable and reached out to a family member who said she was probably scammed. Police were contacted and they reached out to the bank to have the card and bank account frozen.
April 2: A man was arrested for taking $190 in clothing from Target. Rafael Melo, 19 of Boston, was arrested for shoplifting.
April 3: A patron left a cellphone at the Watertown Free Public Library. The phone was inside a shoulder bag which was left on a table at the library. When the owner returned to the library the bag and the phone were gone.
April 3: A Whites Avenue resident received a fraudulent W-2 form in the mail which included accurate information, except for the earned wages. The person had already filed their taxes.
April 4: A man took $365 in clothing from Old Navy and $400 in clothing and Stanley mugs from Target. The man was stopped and placed under arrest. When police searched him they discovered he had drugs. Barry Spencer, 56 of Roxbury, was arrested on two counts of larceny under $1,200 and a count of possession of a Class B drug.
April 4: Two 14-year-old girls were walking near Marshalls in Arsenal Yards when two men pulled up and asked if they needed a ride. The men were in a white four-door sedan and wore black hoodies under puffer jackets. They said they didn’t need a ride and the men drove away.
April 5: Two workers at Joyful Garden got into an argument over dishes in the kitchen area. The argument turned physical and the men began pushing each other. A third person tried to break up the scuffle and got punched in the face. The punch was not thrown at him. No charges were brought.
April 6: A customer parked near the garden entrance of Home Depot. The person returned and found that the rubber around a window was damaged and a black mark was found on the passenger side of the car. The rubber appeared to have been pulled out intentionally and the mark rubbed off.
