The Palestine Committee of Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment is offering a series of documentary and feature films that explores the history and culture of the Palestinian people and provides a picture of their life under Israeli occupation. Our upcoming film is “Gaza Fights for Freedom.”
“Gaza Fights for Freedom” (2019) is the underground classic by journalist Abby Martin documenting the heroic Great March of Return weekly protests that began in 2018. It features exclusive on-the-ground footage of demonstrations where hundreds of unarmed civilians were killed by Israeli snipers and first-had accounts from victims, journalists, and medics. It serves as a legal and journalistic indictment of the Israeli military for war crimes. (This description is a compilation of posts available online.)

The church, which is located at the corner of Russell Avenue and Mt. Auburn Street, has a wheelchair accessible entrance and restroom. There is ample parking on Mt. Auburn Street across from the church. You can also reach the church by taking the #71 MBTA bus from Watertown Square or Harvard Square.

The correct name of this group is Citizens in support of one sided anti Semitic propaganda.
Supporting the human rights of Palestinians is not anti-Semitic. There is plenty of pro-Netanyahu propaganda being flung also.
You would be correct if they gave the Israeli side, or if they were protesting the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. But they are loudly silent on those.
An “underground classic”? As in the underground prisons where Gazans starved Jewish hostages for over two years? Committed rape and sexual violence on an industrial scale? Co-opted journalism, medicine, and international aid into the war to eradicate the “Zionist entity”? As for the the alleged war crimes, this is how one Israeli soldier described the experience (from Jewish Virtual Library):
“Have you ever seen 4,000 people running towards you full of hate and yelling ‘Allah Akhbar’? Have you ever seen 4,000 people men woman and kids full of hate and anger?…
We SAW 4,000 people run to the fence, WE have been shot at, WE saw a bomb explode that was meant for us, WE saw people run towards us with knives and axes meant to KILL us.
The feeling that goes through your body after all this is indescribable.
We have the right to defend our people, family, friends. We know if they pass us they are going for them.
Our last resort is to shoot, we first send papers describing we don’t want this, we send smelly bombs to keep them away. No country in the world does that.
After all this, they keep coming … we shoot.
Every shot you take needs to get approved by 2 different people. Every shot that you take is written down and checked by officials….
Every shot we took was to protect the people we love.”
October 7th is what happens when you don’t.
Have you ever wondered where this hate comes from?
It is obvious to all who are not blind by some loyalty to the idea of a Jewish state that
Israel is constantly manufacturing the idea that they all hate us for no reason to justify the genocide they are perpetrating on the Palestinians.
You know, if you could open your mind to the idea that there might be more to the story than just the one side you believe is the only true one, you might learn something important.
October 7th was not an action. It was a reaction.
Hate make hate. Love makes love. Something to think about.
