Gainsville Road Band Playing in Watertown at a Special, Tuesday Summer Concert

The Town of Watertown announced the following free concert at Saltonstall Park on Tuesday evening. As part of the 22nd Annual Saltonstall Park Concert Series

The Gainsville Road Band – Tonight! Tuesday, August 24, 2021, 6:30 PM – 8 PM

The band describes itself as a “female fronted band dance/party band with a great song list, excellent musicianship, powerful vocals and genuine stage presence.”

Residents Appointed to New Architecture Committee, Will Advise on New High School

A group of Watertown residents has been appointed to advise designers of the new Watertown High School. Town Council President Mark Sideris announced the creation of the new Architecture Committee of the School Building Committee, which will be chaired by Leo Patterson, an architect and member of the School Building Committee. Sideris, who chairs the School Building Committee, sent out the following announcement:

Watertown Comes Out to Celebrate the Town’s Creative Talents at First Arts Market

Charlie BreitroseVisitors at the first Watertown Arts Market had a variety of tables to visit. People strolling around Arsenal Park on Saturday got a glimpse of the artistic creativity that Watertown has to offer during the first Watertown Arts Market. More than 70 artists and crafters and community groups set up tables along the oval path that rings the field at Arsenal Park. The event attracted painters, quilters, ceramic sculptors, authors, jewelry makers, and more. The east end of the park featured a series of bands, and grab a bite to eat.

The School Building Committee, which is overseeing the project design and construction, will host the virtual meeting, which begins at 6 p.m on Wednesday. The presentation will include design updates, the latest about the swing space at Moxley Field, and progress toward making the school zero net energy.

Trash Collection Delayed Due to Tropical Storm Henri

Watertown DPWTrash and recycling pick up in Watertown will be delayed by a day during the week of Aug. 23-27. Trash and recycling collection in Watertown will be delayed by a day due to Tropical Storm Henri. The Watertown Department of Public Works sent out the following announcement:

“Please be aware that Watertown will be delaying trash pickup one day the week of August 23-27. 2021.
