Head to the Mall for Some Halloween Fun and Trick or Treating

The Arsenal Project has a lineup of Halloween Fun lined up this weekend. 

On Sunday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the Arsenal Project – formerly the Arsenal Mall – will host a Free Family-Friendly Trick or Treat Event! The mall is located at 485 Arsenal St. in Watertown. Kids in costume age 12 years and younger are invited for the store-to-store Trick or Treat.

Activity Increasing in Watertown Real Estate Market, Especially With Condos

Each month, The Madden Team puts out an analysis for the Watertown real estate market, and this month the market looks busy.

Compared to last month’s statistics, there seems to have been an increase in new to market activity rising from 10 new listings last month at this time to 19 new listings this month. Pending sales remained at nine for last week, which is exactly the same as it was one month ago. The sold listings also remained relatively steady going from six sales on our last statistics post to seven sales this past week. Our current inventory has seen increases across every sector of the real estate market, with some large increases and some slight increases. Both Single Family and Multi-Families have seen slight increases since last month.

Watertown Girls U14 Soccer Team Successful in Recent Tournament

The Watertown Power under 14 soccer team traveled to Connecticut this month  and came home after coming in second place. 

The Power played in the Paul R. Cody Memorial Columbus Day Tournament in Windsor, Conn., and went 3-2 over the weekend. Team members include: Giulia Salvucci, Isabella Tancredo, Hannah Moylan, Carly MacCormack, Teagan Young, Katie Shea, Kaelene Young, Leah Bailey, Susan Howard, Maia Vachon, Sofia Dushku, Ashley Nygren, Ally Fitzpatrick, Audrey Garland, Laney Andrade and Vera Doob.

WHS Sports: Field Hockey on the Brink of History, Football Falls

The Watertown field hockey team is on the verge of history. With two wins this week, the Raiders need one more win to tie the all-time national high school unbeaten streak of 153. Monday they play at Wilmington for the tie, then – if victorious – the Raiders return to Victory Field on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. to take on Melrose to seek to set the new record. This week, Watertown had a pair of shutouts. On Monday, they traveled to Burlington and came home with a 6-0 win.

School Committee Candidates Discuss School Buildings, Setting Goals

The five people running for School Committee reacted to several questions during the first School Committee Candidate Forum hosted by Watertown News on Thursday night. Among the questions sent in by parents and residents were what they would do about school building/capacity problems, and setting goals for the district. A second candidate forum will be hosted by the Watertown Education Foundation on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Watertown Middle School. The election is Tuesday, Nov.
