Wednesday’s Watertown Concert Has Been Cancelled

Town officials announced that the outdoor concert planned for Wednesday, Aug. 12 has been cancelled due to expected thunderstorms.

The concert planned for Saltonstall Park featuring Southbound Train will not be rescheduled. “We will have them back next year though!” the announcement from the Town said. There are still two more concerts in the Watertown Summer Concert Series.

Hatch Maker Space Reopening, Watertown Library Featured in Globe

Big news for makers: Hatch Makerspace is reopening for appointments next week. Beginning on Monday, August 17, you will have the option to use our sewing machine, vinyl cutter, or laser cutter. Workstations will be cleaned between each use. Small Saves Brings Some Drama to Hockey in This Week’s Comic

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning, Small Saves emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”

Arsenal Yards Bringing Art & Music to Outdoor Rivergreen

Arsenal Yards will host performances and art on the Rivergreen as part of Petals to the Metal. The following announcement was provided by Arsenal Yards:

To celebrate all of these happenings, Arsenal Yards has injected some extra color onto the concrete amidst the construction with the launch of a new “Petals to the Metal” public art and music installation. With this new installation, complete with beautiful floral takeovers and live piano performances, Arsenal Yards invites shoppers, diners and visitors to stop by and enjoy the ambiance while shopping, grabbing an ice cream, or enjoying dinner and a drink.

Watertown Summer Concert Series is Back, Starts This Week
