Watertown’s Eliza Dushku to Appear in CBS Legal Drama ‘Bull’

Watertown native Eliza Dushku has been signed to appear as a recurring character in the CBS show Bull, the legal drama staring NCIS alum Michael Weatherly. Dushku (known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Banshee) will play J.P. Nunnelly, “the savvy head of the best criminal defense firm in New York, who is hired by Michael Weatherly’s titular character when a member of his Trial Analysis Corporation team faces prison time,” according to TVLine.com. IMDB describes Dr. Bull as “the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high-tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick.” CBS recently announced that Bull would be picked up for a second season. Dushku’s three-episode arc begins Tuesday, May 9, and TVLine reported that she may return in season 2.

Come Hear Watertown Musicians, Young and Old, at MusicFest

The Friends of Watertown Music (FoWM) presents its 6th annual MusicFest fundraiser, Friday, March 31, 5:30-9:30 p.m., at the Watertown Middle School, 68 Waverly Avenue, Watertown, MA. The event features over fifty performances by musicians by students, community members, and professional musicians, and an instrument petting zoo. Proceeds benefit the music program of the Watertown Public Schools. Suggested donations are $8/person and $25/family. T-shirts and other merchandise, pizza, and baked goods will also be on sale.

Mosesian Center for the Arts Invites Public to ‘Ink & Drink’

The Mosesian Center for the Arts invites you to Ink & Drink, an Opening Reception for: Big Print/Little Print – an Exhibition of Epic Proportions & Uniform T-shirt Show and Pop-Up Shop on March 23 from 5:30-8 p.m.

Big Print/Little Print is a diverse look at all forms of hand printing – from BIG to small, esoteric to accessible – featuring monoprint, letterpress, woodcut, linocut, etching and more. Uniform explores the rise of the t-shirt as a modern day uniform for young and old alike. Exhibiting artists will be on hand to answer questions about their art and technique. The evening celebration of these two complimentary exhibitions culminates with free munchies and a cash bar reception in our newly redesigned MBar café. Attendees are also invited to try their hand at screen printing.

Folk Trio Performing in Watertown as Part of the Tremedal Concerts

A folk trio that has been performing together for three decades will perform at the Tremedal Concerts series in Watertown. Cindy Kallet, Ellen Epstein and Michael Cicone sing both a cappella and accompanied by guitar and hammered dulcimer. They perform contemporary and traditional music of the British Isles and North America, with some sea music mixed in, as well. Pianist Performing Music from the Harlem Renaissance at the Library

The Watertown Free Public Library will host a pianist who will perform a variety of music from the Harlem Renaissance as part of the events associated with the One Book, One Watertown book Homegoing. The library sent out the following announcement:

Due to unforseen circumstances, the Uptown String Quartet will not be able to perform this Sunday as planned. We didn’t want to leave you without a fun Sunday afternoon of music, so we’ve invited Piano Phil DeVille to perform in the same time slot. Piano Phil DeVille will take a musical journey through the sounds of the Harlem Renaissance. From Eubie Blake’s Ragtime stylings, through early Boogie, and onto the titans of Harlem Stride: Willie “The Lion” Smith, Fats Waller, and James P. Johnson.

The Watertown Mall announced it will host the Watertown Public Schools Annual Student Art Exhibit from March 14-28, 2017. Enjoy hundreds of fine art pieces crafted by Watertown Public School students in Kindergarten through grade 12. You will be amazed at the breadth and depth of artistic talent on display. Mediums showcased include, but are not limited to: watercolor, crayon, cray pas, pencil, photography, computer art, 3D, ceramics, and paper machè. The exhibit will run from Tuesday, March 14, to Wednesday, March 28.
