Patriots Parade: MBTA Announces Service for Super Bowl Festivities

On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to join regular weekday commuters as the City of Boston celebrates another Patriots’ championship. Parade-goers travelling on the MBTA are encouraged to visit mbta.com/patriots for full information on service, service adjustments, and purchasing fares. All customers are strongly urged to purchase roundtrip fare in advance. Parking availability can be checked at some of the busiest MBTA stations on Twitter @MBTA_Parking. Daily parking rates are $2 – $15 with cash, credit, or mobile phone.

Boston Bruins Players Drop by Perkins School for to Try Out a Different Sport

Three members of the Boston Bruins took some time away from the ice to join students from Perkins School for the Blind for a game of goal ball on Monday afternoon. NHL players Zdeno Chara, Ryan Donato and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson donned the black and gold jerseys with the famous spoked “B,” while students came dressed in their blue jerseys with “Perkins” across the front. The Bruins were greeted by the school’s cheerleading team, which got the crowd in the Perkins gym warmed up with a few numbers. Then it was time to strap on the goggles and play some goal ball.

Watertown Senior Named to Globe’s All-Scholastic Boys Soccer Team

Watertown senior Alex Egan was named to the Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic boys soccer team. Watertown senior Alex Egan wrapped up his high school soccer career by being named to the Boston Globe’s All-Scholastic team. Egan’s seven goals and 15 assists helped the Raiders win their first outright Middlesex League title. He finished his career with 17 goals and 18 assists. He was also named the Middlesex League Freedom’s Most Valuable Player.

Watertown captain Brianna Williams dribbles past a South Boston defender in the Raiders’ win. The Watertown High School girls basketball team won its home opener Sunday against South Boston, 44-16, on Sunday. The Raiders bounced back from their first loss of the season, 41-34 at Wakefield, on Friday. With Sunday’s win, Watertown improved its season record to 3-1 (1-1 in the Middlesex League). Sophia Garapetian runs the fast break for Watertown against South Boston.
