Several Watertown High School wrestlers extended their season by finishing well in Saturday’s MIAA Div. 3 North Sectional Meet in Dracut. One repeated as section champ.

Dozens of Watertown Department of Public Works crews and contractors plowed 20 inches of snow off Watertown’s 72 miles of roadway, after the snowstorm that hit the City on Jan. 25 and 26, City Manager George Proakis said. The City also issued 69 parking tickets and 50 warnings and fines for failing to shovel sidewalks.
Tuesday night, a citizens group presented the City Council with a petition to support a resolution encouraging the federal government to seek nuclear disarmament in the United States and the other eight nations that have nuclear weapons. The proposal split the Council, which rejected it down by one vote.

Watertown High School has been named a Distinguished School by Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a national nonprofit organization aimed at educating and preparing students for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics careers.

Put the ball in play and good things will happen. Well, these cliches were all on full display at Victory Field Thursday evening as Watertown took two from Wilmington.

A slow-moving coastal low brings widespread rain and gusty onshore winds to end the workweek. Conditions improve gradually through the weekend, and by Sunday, high pressure takes over — ushering in sunshine and a steady warming trend. Expect highs in the 50s and 60s to start, climbing well into the 70s and even low 80s by midweek. Patience will be rewarded.
