A new ordinance approved by the City Council prohibits restaurants from automatically including plastic utensils with takeout orders, however customers can request these items when they order or pick up their food.

Monday is Presidents Day, and it will impact Watertown City Hall, the Library and Senior Center, as well as trash and recycling collection all week.

Nearly one-in-seven Watertown residents qualify for government food programs, but only about half have signed up for the assistance. Many more people living in town do not qualify for the programs, for one reason or another, despite being in a low-income household. And putting more stress on the situation is the increasing cost of housing in town.
These were just part of the discussion about how hunger impacts the community that took place at a live roundtable this week.
Several condos, a single family and a three-family house will be holding open houses this weekend.

Last weekend, not just one, but two Watertown High School wrestlers — senior Tommy Dicker and junior Brady Gleason — won their division at the MIAA Div. 3 Sectional meet. This weekend, these two wrestlers will be joined by their teammate Tessa Master at the Div. 3 States with the goal of becoming the first Raider wrestler to make it to the New England Championships.
