Watertown State Rep. John Lawn said he is planning to seek re-election the same week that he changed his plea in the driving under the influence of alcohol case, admitting in a Boston courtroom to sufficient facts on the charges.

A thunderstorm rolled through Watertown Friday afternoon, and two lightning bolts struck around town.
Council President to Republic: Trash Strike “Needs to Come to an End”

City Council President Mark Sideris read a letter to the City Council Thursday night in which he calls on Republic Services to end of the trash strike, which began on July 1. The City Council voted to approve sending the letter.
Watertown Yard Waste Remains Uncollected, Report of Efforts to Slow Trash Collection in Town
While trash and recycling collections have resumed during the strike, Watertown residents have not had yard waste pickup in about a month.

The School Building Committee could not choose one of the finalists for owner’s project manager for Watertown’s elementary school construction projects, so they will bring them back in for second round of interviews. At the same time, they discussed how to approach the renovation of Lowell School, and progress on the high school project.

The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce the two young, local actresses who will appear in the Worcester run of Broadway’s Waitress the musical, May 22-26. Watertown’s Charlie Currier-Brown and West Boylston’s Everleigh Clark will alternate in the role of “Lulu,” the daughter of the production’s main character, Jenna.
