Arrests
Nov. 12, 3:05 p.m.: A samaritan called police to report a possible drunk driver on Howard Street. The person followed the car and, when police arrived, pointed thev vehicle out. Police found the vehicle parked and the driver asleep at the wheel. Officers woke the man and they smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
Two Uber customers had a less than satisfactory ride when their driver was arrested after he yelled at police and refused to cooperate when he was pulled over, last week. On Nov. 11, at 1:15 a.m., an officer patrolling on in Watertown Square ran a routine registration check on a vehicle heading westbound on Main Street. Records showed that the owner of the vehicle, Glenn Gaines, had a suspended license, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “When the officer got to the car there were three people in the car, and the driver was an Uber driver,” O’Connor said.

Nov. 2, 2:45 a.m.: Police patrolling on Main Street saw someone inside the West End Laundry Mat after closing. When the officer went into the laundry mat he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The man gave police conflicting stories about why he was there.

Oct. 24, 2:30 p.m.: Police received information that a man from Watertown was wanted on a warrant out of New York City for arson related charges. Watertown Police confirmed that New York officials wanted to extradite the man for those charges. The 37-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a fugitive from justice charges and was transferred to New York.

Oct. 19, 2 a.m.: Police went to Saltonstall Park when they were informed about a someone sleeping on a bench near the playground. Officers checked the welfare of the woman and then when they checked her background they found she was wanted on two warrants. The 36-year-old Waltham woman was arrested was arrested on two warrants out of Hingham District Court: one for assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest; and one for disorderly conduct.

Oct. 12, 2:43 a.m.: A man was found sleeping in a doorway on Main Street at Lexington Street. When police arrived they checked his record and found he had a warrant. The 33-year-old Weston man was arrested on the warrant from Lynn District Court for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Sept. 26, 8:30 p.m.: Police had knowledge that a Puritan Road resident was wanted on a warrant. The 54-year-old Watertown woman was located and arrested on the warrant from Waltham District Court for assault and battery on someone over 60 and assault and battery. Sept.
