Mass Bay Community College Invites Prospective Students to Visit Campus

Massachusetts Bay Community College announced it will hold its annual Fall Open House on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. President David Podell along with faculty, staff and students will be on hand to greet and welcome prospective students and their families to the Wellesley Hills campus. The Fall Open House is an opportunity for prospective students to meet and talk with current students, faculty, and staff to learn about the 70 degree and certificate programs offered at MassBay and transfer opportunities after MassBay. Prospective students are encouraged to attend to learn more about student clubs and organizations, the admissions and financial aid process, and talk with academic divisions. The Open House will include a self-guided tour of campus, mock classes, information sessions, student and alumni panel discussions, information for veterans, on-the-spot admissions, and more.

Watertown Man Wins Award at MassBay Auto Show for His Classsic Car

MassBay Community College recently announced 23 local car enthusiasts who were awarded winners at the annual All Vehicle Show held at our Automotive Technology Center in Ashland. Spectators who attended the May event voted for the top 20 vehicles and the People’s Choice Award winners, in addition the MassBay alumni voted for the Alumni Choice Award winner. This year’s All Vehicle Show had 160 vehicles registered, raising $15,000 from registration fees which will be used to fund MassBay automotive technology student scholarships. MassBay’s Auto Technology is the premier automotive training center in the New England region offering programs that are sponsored by four major automotive brands; BMW, Toyota/Lexus, General Motors, and JEEP/Chrysler/Dodge/Ram, providing students with in-depth, product-specific automotive technology programs.

Students are trained on the newest cars using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The program has a hands-on paid co-op component, enabling students to learn in a professional setting while earning money and college credit simultaneously.

The Spring Open House is an opportunity for prospective students to meet and talk with current students, faculty, and staff to learn about the 80 degree and certificate programs offered at MassBay. Newly admitted students are encouraged to attend to learn more about student clubs and organizations, sign up for placement testing and orientation sessions, and talk with academic divisions. The Open House will include a self-guided tour of campus, mock classes, information sessions, student and alumni panel discussions, information for veterans, financial aid session, on-the-spot admissions, and more. MassBay Community College announced two upcoming job fairs, one focusing on health science and the other for technology internships. Annual Health Career Exploration Fair
Massachusetts Bay Community College will hold its second annual Health Career Exploration Fair on Saturday, April 9, 2016 10 a.m.-12 p.m. College faculty, staff and current students will be on hand to greet and welcome prospective students and their families to the Framingham campus to showcase the Health Science programs and possible career paths for students. The Health Career Exploration Fair is an opportunity for prospective students to meet and talk with current students, faculty and staff to learn about the degree and certificate programs that are available at MassBay, as well as the non-credit program offerings including; Practical Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing, Surgical Technology, Paramedicine, Emergency Medical Technician, Central Processing, Radiologic Technology, Medical Coding, Medical Office, Phlebotomy, Nursing Assistant, Clinical Healthcare Informatics Certificate and CPR Training. The Fair will include a tour of campus, tours of the lab areas, financial aid information table, student support services, on-the-spot admissions, and more. At a time when the healthcare industry is searching for employees who have skills in the high-demand health science fields, MassBay is providing a much needed source of workers who have the education and training to fill these critically important positions.
