The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Aug. 5: A broken wooden bookshelf, a TV, and computer monitor were left near the bike path off Cottage Street. Aug. 5: A mattress was left on the side of the road on Belmont Street.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. July 18: A woman entered Target and took $117.46 in clothing and other merchandise. She walked past the registers without paying and left. July 18: A couple was watching a movie at the Majestic 7 cinemas around 4 p.m. when a man in their row stood up and his shorts fell to the ground. He stood facing the rear corner of the theater.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Jan. 2, 9 a.m.: A package was stolen containing two items that cost $20. The item went missing from the Watertown Housing Authority building on Waverley Avenue.
Jan. 2: A man was spotted taking three pairs of headphones worth a combined $340.
Watertown Police Chief Justin Hanrahan announced the arrest of a Cambridge man in relation to vandalism at one of Watertown’s Armenian churches in November. See the announcement, and this week’s Police Log, below. Chief Hanrahan is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of our investigation into the vandalism incident at St. Stephen’s Armenian Church on November 18, 2024. Thanks to the diligent efforts of our patrol and detective divisions, a Cambridge resident has been identified and will face criminal charges for their actions.

Oct. 7, 3:30 p.m.: A woman went into Carter’s in the Watertown Mall and took seven items worth $205 and concealed them in a bag. She left without paying. Oct 7, 7 p.m.: A man took seven Pokemon cards and a Pokemon S&V Box worth a combined $240 from Best Buy.

June 28, 9:05 a.m.: Police checked the property in the Watertown Square Plaza on Mt. Auburn St., where Dunkin’ Donuts is located, after the property owner said homeless people had been seen camping and loitering there. Officers spotted man in a back alley on the property. They discovered he had six warrants for his arrest out of Waltham District Court for trespassing.

July 15, 1:54 a.m.: An officer who stopped at a red light on North Beacon Street heading toward Watertown Square when he heard a loud scraping noise coming from behind him. He looked in the mirror and saw a grey Ford SUV, with the driver’s side tire completely off the rim. The SUV was driving on its rim, and sparks were coming from the rim as it traveled past the cruiser. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver said he had not been in an accident but that he got a flat when he drove over a nail.
