August at the Senior Center: Summer Supper, Flower Arrangements, a Book Club and Much More

The Senior Center has many activities during the month of August, including some in-person events. In the August Watertown Senior News, put out by the Council on Aging, Director of Senior Services Anne-Marie Gagnon writes that the Senior Center is open and welcoming residents again. She added that there will be no meals (with a couple of exceptions below) provided because the kitchen remains closed, but people are welcome to bring their own food. Also, visitors may want to bring a sweater because the windows will remain open to provide circulation inside the senior center. Here are some of the events going on this month at the Watertown Senior Center:

As we slowly return to in-person activities at the Council on Aging/Senior Center (COA), some July programs continue to be offered on Zoom and some are now offered at the COA in the afternoons including Knitting, Whist, Chair Volleyball, Bridge, Rummikub, and Canasta. Senior Shuttle Bus Update

The Watertown Senior Shuttle Bus is back on the road for grocery shopping. Due to COVID-19, the bus is limited to 6 riders plus the driver. Masks must be worn.

The Secret Lives of Backyard and Migratory Birds with Sean Kent, Education Manager, Museum of American Bird Art. Friday, April 9, at 1 pmSpring is a great season for bird watching with migrants returning from their winter grounds in all their breeding finery. This illustrated lecture will feature birds that are commonly seen through out the spring and give you a glimpse into the secret life of birds.
