Visit the Watertown Cable Studio, Learn About WCA-TV at the Open House

Watertown Cable Access Corp. (WCA-TV) will be having an open house on Wednesday, October 26th from 6 to 9 p.m. at our station located inside Watertown High School. Residents of Watertown are invited to come check out Watertown’s own cable access station to take a tour of the studio, learn about workshops and volunteer opportunities, and learn about producing their very own radio or television program. The WCA-TV staff will be on hand to answer questions about workshops, programming, volunteering, internships, and more. We encourage organizations, businesses, non-profits, and all the people who live in Watertown to get involved at WCA-TV, so come learn what we’re all about! Watertown Cable Offering Free News Production, Lighting Classes

Watertown Cable Access Television has two free classes where Watertown residents can learn to put on a news show and light a location for filming. News Production Class

Residents of Watertown are invited to sign up for Watertown Cable Access Television’s free class in News Production beginning on Aug. 22. In this workshop, attendees can make their dreams of becoming a news reporter a reality! They will learn what makes a successful news story, including writing, shooting, editing and more. The prerequisite for this class is the Field Camera Workshop or special permission from instructor.

Veteran Shares His Experiences in Vietnam on Watertown Cable Show

A Watertown veteran shares his story of service in the Vietnam War and recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder on the latest episode of A Veteran’s Story, hosted by Bob Kaprielian. A Veteran’s Story featuring SP4 Bob Quimby, US Army, who served in the Vietnam War during TET offensive. Bob was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge as well as the Purple Heart. After returning home from Vietnam, Bob was diagnosed with PDSD. Bob shares his story about dealing with PDSD and his recovery.

Learn Advanced Video Editing at Watertown Cable Class

Residents of Watertown are invited to sign up for Watertown Cable Access Television’s free class in Advanced Video Editing beginning on June 29. In this workshop, attendees will continue to grow their Final Cut Pro knowledge. They will learn how to make unique transitions, use color correction, perform basic keying, and even create intros and end credits. The prerequisite for this class is Digital Video Editing or special permission from instructor. The class will take place Wednesday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 20 at WCA-TV’s station, located in the basement of Watertown High School.

Watertown Cable Offering a Variety of Free Classes in June

Check out some of the classes offered by Watertown Cable Access Television this month. 
Multi-Camera Production Class
Residents of Watertown are invited to sign up for Watertown Cable Access Television’s free class in Multi­-Camera Production beginning on June 13. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to operate a video switcher, audio board, teleprompter and studio cameras in order to create their own show. Take with friends, family or other community members. Classes must have at least four individuals per session to fill all positions. The class will take place Monday, June 13 through Monday, July 18 at WCA­TV’s station.

Free Audio Technician Workshop Offered by Watertown Cable

Watertown residents of all ages are invited to sign up for Watertown Cable Access Corporation’s free Audio Technician class beginning on May 23. In this workshop, attendees will get hands-on training on all of WCA-TV’s audio equipment, including audio mixers, microphones, headsets, and more. Students will also learn best practices for good sound capture and how to troubleshoot any audio issues that may come up. The class will take place onMonday, May 23rd and continue every Monday until June 6th at WCA-TV’s station. These classes will run from 2:30 PM-4:00 PM.

Watertown Cable Offering Class on Graphic Design Open to Residents

Residents of Watertown are invited to sign up for Watertown Cable Access Television’s free class in Graphic Design beginning on May 11. In this workshop, attendees will be instructed on the basic aspects of Adobe Photoshop. Along with learning about the interface itself, students will work with different tools, layers, and filters to create unique graphic designs that can be used in all types of projects. The class will take place on Wednesday, May 11 and Wednesday, May 18 at WCA-TV’s station.
