Police Log: Rabbi Harassed, Teens Suspected of Setting Small Blaze at Home Depot

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. May 20: Loss prevention at Target spotted a man who they recognized from previous incidents. Police were called and arrived as the suspect left the store. He said he was told by an unidentified friend to walk out with merchandise, and that he thought the items were paid for. The suspect did not have the items with him, but officers were able to locate $309 worth of merchandise behind a wall at the Residence Inn by Marriott.

Police Log: Man Pulls Taser on Tow Truck Driver, Checks Intercepted and Altered

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. May 11: Toyota of Watertown reported a check fraud case. The dealership had written a check for $20,491 to Sullivan Tire on May 5, and sometime between then and May 8 the check was intercepted and the “pay to” line was changed. Police are investigating. May 11: Target security stopped a man and a woman who took $210 in clothing and health and beauty items. The two were summoned to Waltham District Court on a charge of larceny under $1,200.

Police Log: Online Loan Scam, Construction Vehicle Missing, Small Fire

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. April 28: A resident was trying to get a loan from an online lender. He had received loans from the company before, but this time was rejected. Soon he received offers from other companies. He attempted to borrow $790 and was asked to provide online banking information and the login credentials.

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. April 12: A woman took $213 worth of merchandise from CVS on Mt. Auburn Street, and was seen leaving in a black Mercedes. April 13: Multiple pieces of furniture and a mattress were left in the dumpster at the Watertown Boys & Girls Club. April 13: A resident received a letter from Cambridge Savings Bank about a new bank account opened in the person’s name.

Police Log: 2 Arrests for Trying to Cash Fraudulent Checks, Man Busted for Exposing Himself

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. March 1: Officers were dispatched to the Municipal Parking lot off Spring Street and encountered a woman. They checked her information and discovered she was wanted on a fugitive from justice warrant out of New Hampshire for possession of a controlled substance. While police were doing an inventory of the contents of her vehicle they found some pills and illegal drugs. Officer Colton Bailey arrested Jill Clarke, 41, of Waltham, on the warrant as well as charges of possession of a Class C drug and possession of a Class E drug.

Police Log: Man Arrested for Causing Disturbance at Restaurant, Police Locate Man Wanted on 3 Warrants

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Feb. 16: An officer spotted a vehicle traveling at 45 mph in a 30 zone on Common Street. The vehicle then made a right on a red at a no turn on red intersection. Officer Colton Bailey pulled the vehicle over and discovered the driver had a warrant for driving on a suspended license — a subsequent offense.
