Man Stopped in the Middle of Breaking Into a House

Watertown Police caught a man stealing items from a house on Bromfield Street. On Oct. 8 at 12:41 a.m., a man was spotted carrying a TV out of a home on Bromfield Street, and when police arrived they saw a man walk back into the house, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. “Officers surrounded the house and rang the doorbell but there was no response,” Lawn said. “They heard someone dragging something across a floor and saw a man’s head pop up.”

Man Arrested for Having Multiple Warrants

Police went to Church Lane early on the morning of Oct. 1 for a disturbance involving two men, one of whom was wanted on multiple arrest warrants. One of the men gave officers a false name, but police were able to determine his real identity, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. They also found he had three outstanding warrants. Adam J. Swindell of Watertown was arrested on three warrants from Salem District Court – one for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one for threatening to commit a crime and one for shoplifting, Lawn said.

Watertown Schools, Police, Fire to Discuss School Safety on Wednesday

Find out about how the Watertown first responders would deal with an emergency at a school during the School Safety Parents Night. The Watertown Public Schools will host the event on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Watertown Middle School. The panel that evening will include Superintendent Jean Fitzgerald; Jason Del Potro – WMS Assistant Principal and Chair of the district’s Critical Incident Team; Barbara Gortych, K-12 Coordinator of Guidance and Assessment; Watertown Police Lt. Daniel Unsworth; Watertown Police Sgt. George Demos and Watertown School Resource Officer Kerry Kelley.

Watertown Police Bust Two for Allegedly Stealing a Car

Watertown Police located a car reported stolen and arrested two women. Police received a report to be on the look out for a black Audi stolen from Boston. “An officer parked on Main and Church streets observed a black Audi on Church Street heading toward Main,” said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The officer stopped the car and talked to the two women inside. “Both women refused to answer any questions about the motor vehicle,” Lawn said.

Police Log: Thieves Caught on Camera, iPhones Taken from Park

Sept. 16, 6:42 p.m.: Police were send to Main Street for a report of a man who was possibly intoxicated. They found a man who was taken into protective custody because he was intoxicated and they discovered he had a warrant. The 53-year-old man from Newton was arrested on the warrant from Boston District Court for larceny.

Sept. 10, 8:17 a.m.: An officer patrolling spotted a car speeding on Mt. Auburn Street. When he pulled over the car, the officer discovered the driver had a revoked license and a warrant. The 41-year-old man from Waltham was arrested for driving with a revoked license, speeding and a warrant for traffic violations from Concord District Court.
