Police Log: Driver Arrested on OUI after Hitting UPS Truck and More

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. 

Arrests

March 3, 10:26 a.m.: Police patrolling on Mt. Auburn Street spotted a man who they knew had an outstanding warrant. The 51-year-old man from Watertown was arrested on the warrant from Charlestown District Court for traffic offenses.

March 3, 10:45 p.m.: An officer responded to a minor accident on Arsenal Street and found a pickup truck had struck a UPS truck. The officer detected an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 53-year-old Watertown man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 4, 7:10 p.m.: Employees at Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street called Police after a man was causing a disturbance. Police found the man had two outstanding warrants. The 30-year-old Watertown man was arrested on two warrants from Worcester District Court, one for traffic offenses and one for trespassing.

Incidents

March 3, 10:15 a.m.: A man left is iPhone on the counter of the Dunkin’ Donuts in Watertown Square when he was paying. When he went back it was gone. Security video shows a white male, in his 30s or 40s walk up to the counter, place his hand on the phone and take it. Police are investigating.

March 5, 9:51 a.m.: A Lyons Court resident invited a friend to stay overnight and when the resident woke up he found the friend was gone and some prescription medication was missing.

March 6, 12:43 a.m.: An employee of Dyer Liquors said he discovered someone had bent his windshield wiper. about two hours earlier he had told a man that the store was closed. He then saw the man standing near his vehicle. The suspect is a white male in his 40s, standing 6-foot-1-inches tall with red hair.

March 5, 3:40 p.m.: A package was delivered to a building on Coolidge Avenue. An employee moved it to the function room in the lobby. A security video shows a woman pick up the package and take it inside. Police are investigating.
