Watertown Field Hockey Team Gets Off to Strong Start

The Raiders started their effort to get a seventh straight state title and to set a record winning streak by defeating Arlington in the season opener.

Watertown won 6-0 at Arlington, with senior Kourtney Kennedy scoring four, according to the Boston Globe report. Sophomore goalie Jonna Kennedy got the shutout in her first start.

The Raiders have not lost in 139 games, and they also have a streak of 26 straight shutouts, dating back to the state semifinal in 2013, Wicked Local Watertown reported.

The field hockey team returns home Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. against Winchester.
