The Watertown girls basketball team won’t be able to complete another undefeated regular season after falling in the final of the Hutchinson Tournament.

The Raiders lost their first game of the year 40-36 to Coyle & Cassidy (5-0) in the final of the holiday tournament in Bellingham.

Watertown recovered from a slow start to pull even at the end of the first quarter, but the Raiders could never take the lead, according to the report on Wicked Local Watertown. Junior Shannon Murphy led the Raiders with 17 points.

Watertown plays in the Div. 2 North Section while Coyle & Cassidy plays in the Div. 3 South Section, so the Raiders will not face the Vikings again in the state tournament.

To reach the final, Watertown (5-1) beat Natick 43-32 with senior Michaela Antonellis leading the team with 19 points.

The Raiders next travel to play Stoneham on Jan. 5.
