Ellice T. (Lecie) Lund passed away peacefully on September 3 at the age of 93 in Littleton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late John S. Lund and devoted mother of daughters, Jo-Anne Lund and husband, David Fox, and Susan Lund and her partner, Amy Bell, and the late Laurie Lund.

She was the cherished grandmother of Emily Fox and her husband, Joshua Wigler, and Hudson Bell. Additionally, she is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

An active resident of Watertown for most of her life, Ellice worked at the Cambridge Savings Bank in Harvard Square. She donated her time and many talents to the Watertown Boys and Girls Club and the Rotary Club of Watertown. She was also a member of the Mt. Auburn Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering in the hospital’s gift shop.

A skilled knitter, she made baby blankets for the shop. During the holiday season, she often played the role of “Mrs. Claus” at the Watertown Mall. An avid cook, Ellice loved to entertain family, friends and neighbors, whether at her home in Watertown or at her summer cottage in Vassalboro, Maine – the town in which she was born.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Charles River Alleycats, PO Box 290759, Boston, MA 02129 or Boston Forgotten Felines, 21 Montvale St, Roslindale, MA 02131.

To celebrate Ellice’s life, family and friends are invited to visit the home of Susan Lund and Amy Bell on October 22, 2017, from 1-5.

  1. Ellice was a wonderful woman.
Her husband John and her were one of Watertown’s most active couple
and most loved by the community.
    Both were full of fun!
I was honored to speak at the service for John, the
church was packed by citizens who loved them both.
John was Sgt at Arms in the Rotary Club and a Past President.
Ellice was an active member of the Mount Auburn Hospital Auxiliary.
    We miss them both!

  2. Ellice was a great friend to our family. Ellice and John along with my parents were always up to something fun and often involved food. (She helped cater our wedding!) The Gourmaniacs were quite a bunch of folks who knew how to have a really good time whether it was in someone’s home in Watertown or in travels away.
Ellice was an amazing woman, mother and friend to the community of Watertown. Jimmy and I are grateful to have known her.
