WHS Sports: Wrestler Competes at Div. 3 Meet, Boys Hoops Routes Wilmington

A Watertown High School wrestler competed at the MIAA Div. 3 Wrestling Tournament at Wakefield High School over the weekend.

Freshman Waqas Khan competed in the 113 lb. class, but fell in his two matches. His first match was against the eventual Div. 3 champion Jaden Estrada of Middleborough.

Khan qualified for the Divisional meet after having success at the Central Section meet the week before where he won third place.

Boys Basketball Rolls

Led by senior John Korte’s 20 points, the Watertown High School boys basketball team routed visiting Wilmington 77-40 last Thursday.

The Raiders improved to 13-6 and have one more home game against Boston United on Tuesday at noon. Watertown has qualified for the State Tournament. Last year, the team won the North Section and got to the State Semifinal at TD Garden.
