Over the weekend, audiences enjoyed three performances of theWatertown High School Dramatic Arts Program’s production of the musical “Chicago” the high school edition.

The show featured 16 songs, most of which also featured the dancing of WHS’s actors.

The Married Murderesses and Billy Flynn perform a number during the Watertown High School production of “Chicago.” Raymond Whitney plays Billy, while the Murderesses are: Tony Carton, Alicia Karunaratne, Ella Pastore, Anais Markwood, Alyssa Carroll and Catherine Fabian.

Seniors Toni Carton and Yeraz Kaligian played the female leads, Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart. Senior Raymond Whitney played the lawyer, Billy Flynn, and T.J. Powderly played Roxie’s husband Amos Hart. The Matron Mamma Morton was played by Vera Doob.

The show also featured several performances by the Married Murderesses: Alicia Karunaratne (Liz), Ella Pastore (Annie), Alyssa Carroll (June, and also Mary Sunshine), Anais Markwood (Hunyak), Catherine Fabian (Mona) and Carton (Velma Kelly). Pastore was the Dance Captain for the show.

The Married Murderesses perform during WHS’s musical “Chicago.” The group includes Tony Carton, Alicia Karunaratne, Ella Pastore, Anais Markwood, Alyssa Carroll and Catherine Fabian.

Other cast members included: Henry Broadstone (Fred Casely/ensemble), Carolyn Gulley (Sgt. Fogarty/ensemble), Lana Taffel (Go-To-Hell Kitty/ensemble), Calvin Walter (Harry/ensemble), Phil Centola (Court Clerk/ensemble), Iona Fleming (Judge/ensemble), Miriam Karachi (Aaron/ensemble), Sabrina Lopez (ensemble), Alexa Burroughs (ensemble), Emma Griffith (ensemble), Casey Master (ensemble), Bianca Skraly (ensemble) and Aidan Sheehan (ensemble).

  1. This was a fabulous production — wonderful choreography, dancing, singing, costumes. The leads were outstanding, along with the Married Murderesses dance team. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday afternoon performance … and offer big congrats and thank to the entire production team, and especially to the WHS drama teacher and show director, Kacie Kirkpatrick.

    And thanks to you, Charlie, for a great article and pix which really capture the energy and spirit of the production.
