The following announcement was provided by 2Life Communities:

2Life Communities is pleased to announce the promotion of Zoe Weinrobe to chief of real estate, overseeing a portfolio that has seen unprecedented growth during her seven years with the organization. In her previous role as director of real estate, Weinrobe led the creation of nearly 400 affordable apartments at 2Life while also overseeing the renovations of 2Life’s Golda Meir and Coleman Houses in Newton.

As chief of real estate, Weinrobe will expand on her success and lead the organization’s real estate development at a time of tremendous growth. 2Life is currently developing multiple large-scale projects including its middle-income housing model Opus Newton, a redevelopment of the J.J. Carroll Apartments in Brighton with the Boston Housing Authority and Brooke House at Olmsted Village in Mattapan.

“Since joining us seven years ago, Zoe has guided 2Life to unprecedented growth under her expert leadership,” said Lizbeth Heyer, President of 2Life Communities. “Zoe is resoundingly respected in the affordable housing community and among her team and 2Life colleagues. Her promotion is an outcome of her continuous dedication and passion for 2Life’s mission and our treasured residents.”

In her time at 2Life, Weinrobe has overseen completed projects totaling over $200 million in development costs and over $340 million in projects in development.

“I am incredibly proud of the work the 2Life real estate team has accomplished over the last seven years including our expansion into new communities and commitment to building homes where seniors feel a sense of purpose and belonging,” said Weinrobe. “Building an amazing pipeline of affordable, efficient, beautiful and safe buildings for our residents is our top priority, and I look forward to continue working with the 2Life Communities team to build successful senior communities where all can live with purpose and joy.”

Prior to joining 2Life in 2016, Weinrobe served as vice president at Recap Real Estate Advisors, working with public housing authorities across the country on conversions through HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program, including both renovations and new construction projects. Weinrobe also worked at Urban Edge CDC, the Cambridge Housing Authority, and the City of Cambridge.

Weinrobe has a master’s degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated with honors from Cornell University. Currently serving as the vice chair of Just A Start, a Cambridge-based community development corporation, and as a trustee of the Watertown Affordable Housing Trust, Weinrobe continues to be passionate about preserving and building deeply affordable, sustainable, and beautiful housing for both seniors and families.

About 2Life Communities

2Life Communities, a nonprofit organization founded in 1965, operates on the belief that all seniors should have the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment – a model called aging in community, which directly combats the growing public health crisis of social isolation and loneliness amongst older adults. At 2Life Communities, residents can step out the doors of their own apartments and find friendship, community, physical and intellectual stimulation, and a helping hand day or night. Serving a diverse population of over 1,530 older adults, 2Life creates communities with a laser sharp focus on affordability – a tremendous concern in Massachusetts, the state with the 2nd largest gap in the U.S. between seniors’ median income and the cost of living.
