The following announcement was provided by the Lander for State Senate campaign:

Daniel Lander is proud to announce that his campaign for State Senate was endorsed by New Politics, a national organization that supports candidates who have strong backgrounds in public service. The endorsement highlights Lander’s experience serving his community with Americorp and working in the City of Boston.

New Politics endorses and supports leaders who are dedicated to public service. The organization has endorsed candidates like Gov. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Gov. Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, and U.S. Senate Candidate and Texas State Senator James Talarico.

“I am proud to receive an endorsement from New Politics,” said Daniel Lander. “Our communities need a new kind of leadership, as the status quo is leaving too many behind. I’m excited by the work that New Politics is doing to elect a new kind of leader.”

Lander has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service throughout his career. Early in his career, Lander served as an AmeriCorps Fellow at Just A Start, a nonprofit in Cambridge that develops affordable housing in the community, where he organized tenants living in Cambridge public housing. For the past four years, Lander has served the Boston community as a senior advisor to Mayor Michelle Wu, where he worked on affordable housing and economic justice.

Daniel Lander is running for the State Senate to take on the broken status quo and make Beacon Hill work for the people. He grew up in this district and has worked alongside progressive leaders like Senator Elizabeth Warren, Stacey Abrams, and Mayor Michelle Wu. Daniel believes Massachusetts can be more affordable — and a great place to build a good life. He will tackle
our housing crisis, work to transform the MBTA, and stand up to the Trump administration.

The Suffolk and Middlesex District includes all of Watertown, Belmont, as well as the Fenway and Allston Brighton neighborhoods of Boston, and West Cambridge. Learn more about Daniel Lander at www.daniellander.com
