The following announcement was provided by Point32Health:

The Point32Health finance team turned a summer BBQ into something unforgettable. More than 150 colleagues in the finance organization came together for food and camaraderie and to make a meaningful impact in support of Operation American Soldier.

Together, the team assembled and donated 115 backpacks filled with snacks, toiletries, and handwritten notes of appreciation. Each backpack was carefully assembled with the hope of bringing comfort to service members deployed far from home.

“Huge thanks to Point32Health’s team for providing care packages for our troops—and delivering them to us, too,” said Wendy Rocca, president and co-founder of Operation American Soldier. “Your support means the world to those serving far from home.”

  1. This is great that this company and these people volunteered to do this valuable team event.
Operation American Soldier does wonderful things for our troops overseas. They have packing nights typically at least one night per month and many times could use extra hands if people have spare time to volunteer.
They also look for donations of needed toiletries and snack items. Additionally they can always use note paper and cards to send to the troops. Many of us get greeting cards and note pads from various charities that we don’t really need.
If you could gather them together and bring them to the Shutt Marine Center at 215 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown, I am sure they will be put to good use. I believe they also look for people to help write thank you notes to the troops to go with the packages sent.
You can contact Wendy Rocca at: WendyR@operationamericansoldier.org. I believe the phone number is 617-651-1685 if you need to find out times you can drop off donations or times to volunteer.
