Watertown Runner One of Fastest Women in 2022 Boston Marathon, See How Other Locals Fared

A Watertown woman finished among the top female runners in the 2022 Boston Marathon. She was one of more than a dozen runners to run the race on Patriots Day

Elaina Tabb finished 16th in the women’s race with a time of 2:31:34. She was also the 174th fastest runner, overall. In 2021, Tabb finished 12th in the women’s race. The fastest male runner from Watertown was Matthew Farkas, who finished 346th in the men’s race, and 368th overall.

Plaques Unveiled to Remember Five Firefighters Who Lost Their Lives Serving Watertown

David Morrill, far left, attended the ceremony on the 63rd anniversary of his father Charles’ death. Five Watertown Firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty will have a permanent place at the Watertown Fire Headquarters. Each was memorialized with a plaque placed on the front of the building. The Watertown Fire Department unveiled the plaques to Willard Streeter, Gilbert Nichols, Ernest Ford, Charles Morrill and Joseph Toscano on Wednesday afternoon.

Watertown City Hall, Senior Center & Library Closings This Weekend

Hours at some of Watertown’s municipal buildings will be impacted by Good Friday, Easter and Patriots Day. The City of Watertown sent out an announcement saying that City Hall and the Senior Center will close at 1 p.m. on April 15 in observance of Good Friday. Both buildings will be closed on Monday, April 18 for Patriots Day. The Watertown Free Public Library will be closed on Sunday, April 17 for Easter, and on Monday, April 18 for Patriots Day.
