Two Watertown Track Athletes Among New England’s Best

Watertown senior Mange Camara won the 300 meters at the New England Indoor Championships. Two Watertown High School students showed they are among the top track and field athletes in region with top five finishes at the New England Indoor Championships, including a first place finish. On Saturday, WHS senior Mange Camara competed in two events — the 55 dash and the 300 meters at the meet held at Boston’s Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, and senior Abbi Peterson took on the best high jumpers from around New England. Camara took first place in the 300 meters, with a time of 34.47 — which was 0.4 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Trio Performing in Watertown for Tremedal Concerts

Kallet, Epstein and Cicone will perform on March 9 in Watertown. The trio of Cindy Kallet, Ellen Epstein and Michael Cicone will perform in Watertown in the latest Tremedal Concert. The concert will be at the First Parish Church, 35 Church St. in Watertown on Saturday, March 9, at 8 p.m. Tickets have sold out. Organizers of the concert describe the group as:

Snow Day for Watertown Public Schools on Monday

Watertown officials announced that the town’s Public Schools will be closed on Monday, March 4 due to the snow storm hitting the area. The storm is forecast to drop several inches of snow on area. Watertown officials announced the closing, among other places, on its Twitter account on Sunday night

One of Watertown’s Eating Hot Spots Has Closed

Watertown’s La Casa de Pedro restaurant announced it has closed in a message posted on Facebook Sunday morning. The restaurant has been serving Caribbean food in town for a quarter century, first on Main Street and then in the Arsenal on the Charles. The statement released Sunday seems to leave open the chance of Pedros opening again in the future. Twenty five years ago, we started a wonderful and fulfilling life adventure. We learned about you, we shared our table and were blessed to be the place you chose to come to.

The Raiders celebrate after senior Brett Sutherland tied the score in the first period of the Div. 3 North quarterfinal on Saturday. Watertown fell 3-2 to Dracut/Tyngsboro. BILLERICA — The Raiders battled to the final buzzer, but the Watertown High School boys hockey team could not find the back of the net for a third time, Saturday, and fell 3-2 to Dracut/Tyngsboro in the MIAA Div. 3 North quarterfinal.

Season Ends for Watertown Girls Basketball, But Coach Still Pleased by Team’s Effort

The loss to St. Mary’s on Friday ended the Raiders’ season, but the team has shown progress in 2018-19. Here Watertown’s Ellie Monahan drives to the hoop against South Boston earlier this season. The season may have ended for the Watertown High School girls basketball team on Friday night, but their coach was proud of how far the team has progressed. Last season, Raiders only won one game and missed the State Tournament for the first time in several years.

Eliza & Nate Dushku Will Host Q&As at 2 Showings of their New Film “Mapplethorpe”

Matt Smith plays Robert Mapplethorpe in the movie produced by Watertown’s Eliza and Nate Dushku. Watertown’s own Eliza and Nate Dushku will be on hand to answer questions after a showing of Mapplethrope, the movie which the siblings produced. There will be two showings of the movie about one of the significant artists of the 1970s and 1980s at the Kendall Square Cinema in Cambridge.
