Watertown Library Welcomes New Trustee, Emily Izzo

On February 19, the Watertown Free Public Library Trustees and Town Council President Mark Sideris selected Emily Izzo to fill the open seat on the Library Board of Trustees. She will serve until the next election in November, 2021. A Watertown resident, Izzo works as a municipal finance law attorney with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. She is looking forward to the opportunity to expand the impact and shape the future of Watertown’s well-loved public library.

Performers Wanted for 9th Annual Watertown MusicFest, Save the Date

Students play at the fourth annual Watertown MusicFest. The following information was provided by Friends of Watertown Music:

Our 9th Annual Watertown MusicFest promises to be a great community event with over 50 performances – by Watertown’s youngest musicians to professionals – on three “stages!” We also feature an instrument “Petting Zoo” and refreshments! Friends of Watertown Music invites all musicians to perform! We welcome solos, duos, and ensembles at all levels.

Watertown Challenger Baseball Seeks “Buddies” to Help Athletes

The Watertown Challenger Baseball program allows children special needs to participate in little league. Watertown Youth Baseball announced it is seeking buddies to help the athletes this season:

Baseball season is just around the corner and the Watertown Challenger Baseball team is looking for volunteers. We need Buddies*, a couple of pitchers and someone to manage equipment. All volunteers are required to fill out a CORI form. What is Challenger Baseball?

Majestic 7 Movie Theaters Open for Business in Watertown

The Majestic 7 movie theaters have opened at Arsenal Yards. The following information was provided by Arsenal Yards:

The Majestic 7, a CW Theater, is now open and will host grand opening festivities on March 14 and 15, 2020 at its new Watertown location in Arsenal Yards. The modern seven-screen entertainment venue is just the latest of exciting openings at Arsenal Yards, the thriving 1M+ sq. foot mixed-use urban village coming to life in Watertown with 250,000 sq. ft.
