Launch Rockets at Museum of Science Activity at Mall

The following announcement was provided by the Watertown Mall:

Calling all astronauts – The Museum of Science will be coming to the Watertown Mall on Aug. 29 for their program “Rockets: There & BackAgain” beginning at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

This free hands-on workshop will show children how to cohesively use science and creativity to see how rockets work and function. The launch activity & re-entering activity will show children how to plan, build & test the rockets they make. Please note that these activities will utilize latex balloons. Space for event is limited; please pre-register to secure your spot, please call the mall at 617-926-4968 ext.

Small Saves Cartoon: Focus

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning, Small Saves emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”

NEW LOCATION: Final Summer Concert Features Country Band & National Farmers Market Week

Southbound Train will perform in the last Watertown Summer Concert of the year. NOTE: Wednesday’s rain will move the final Watertown Summer Concert indoors in the Watertown Free Public Library. Earlier, Town officials planned to hold it outside, but the decision was changed. Head down to Saltonstall Park Wednesday to see the last free summer concert of the year, and celebrate National Farmers Market Week at Watertown’s own market. The seven-piece country band Southbound Train will perform high energy, vocal-oriented songs, both past and present.

Wayne Martin Puppets Returning to Watertown

On August 24, Wayne Martin Puppets will have three performances at the Watertown Mall, beginning at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.

Come by for some family friendly back-to-school shopping entertainment to break up the day! Wayne Martin has been performing with hand puppets & marionettes for over 50 years. This multi-Emmy Award nominee has performed at the Watertown Mall multiple times throughout the years, and we are so excited to have him here again for a back-to-school themed show! Wayne Martin will be using various comedy techniques during his show to keep the audience laughing. Join Wayne and all his puppets for this free event at the Watertown Mall on August 24 for musical revue that is perfect for the whole family to enjoy!
