Wayne Martin Puppets Appearing at Watertown Mall’s April Vacation Event

The Watertown Mall Hosts Wayne Martin Puppets, presenting “Spring Sings,” on Saturday, April 22 for April Vacation Week! Join award winning Wayne Martin Puppets for a special “Spring Sings” production! Experience the thrills of the greatest little string extravaganza puppet circus around! The show will be featuring “Scatterbrain the Balloon Blowing Rabbit.” Dance along with ‘The Jitterbugs,’ a ‘Grasshopper Fiddler,’ share in a ‘Teddy Bears picnic’ and march along with the ‘Doop Doop Baby Chicks Band Trio’! You’ll roar with laughter ad gasp in amazement at the antics of these amazing marionettes in a musical revue that’s great for the whole family!

ArtWeek Boston Coming to Watertown With Three Events

ArtWeek 2017 will feature more than 250 events around the Boston area, including some activities in Watertown. Produced by the Boch Center, ArtWeek announced its largest season lineup ever. The award-winning creative festival will offer more than 250 events from April 28-May 7 — representing a more than 40 percent increase over the spring and fall 2016 festivals. ArtWeek events provide participants with new ways to experience art, culture, and creativity, and will now be held in 13 new neighborhoods and towns across Eastern Massachusetts, with a total presence in more than 70 communities. In collaboration with ArtSpring Cape Cod, this season’s festival will feature nearly 30

events on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.

Watertown Arbor Day Celebration Features Food Trucks, Demonstrations

Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion will host a free Arbor Day Celebration on Thursday, April 27. The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27, rain or shine. In case of bad weather, the events will be in side the Mansion, 440 Talcott Ave. in Watertown (behind the Arenal on the Charles).  

Grab a bite to eat from the food trucks (they accept credit cards) or pack a picnic and join us for an afternoon of fun for all ages!

The Watertown Mall hosts a couple Easter events for children this week. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Join us and the Watertown Family Network for a yummy breakfast at Papa Gino’s on Tuesday, April 11 at 9:30 a.m.! Breakfast will be $5 for adults and $5 for children. Every child’s meal includes a photo with the Easter Bunny at the Easter Village immediately following breakfast! It will be a fun filled morning with songs, stories and raffles for kids of all ages.

The Easter Bunny Arrives at the Watertown Mall This Week

The Watertown Mall invites the public to come to the enchanted village and see the Easter Bunny for yourself! Photographs with the Easter Bunny will be available at the Watertown Mall’s Easter Village, located near Carter’s. The Easter Bunny arrives Thursday, April 6th 2017 at 11 am! Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays. The Easter Bunny Village will be open on the following dates: April 6-15.

Halalisa Singers Performing Songs from Around the World in Watertown

The Halalisa Singers present Music Down in My Soul: Songs of hope and spirit from around the world, on Saturday, April 8, 8 p.m. at Follen Community Church, 755 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, and on Sunday, April 9, 3 p.m., First Parish of Watertown, 35 Church St. The world music choral ensemble is led by Artistic Director Mary Cunningham, accompanied by Trevor Berens, piano and Bertram Lehmann, percussion. 

Music Down in My Soul features heartfelt, joyful selections to inspire hopefulness, strength in action and togetherness for both the audience and singers. Focusing on music with lyrics including ‘We keep our dreams alive, together we survive’, the program brims with positive spirit and inspirational messages. This soulful mix of spirituals, gospel, and contemporary choral music spans 300 years of courage and resistance from the Americas, Yemen, China, Tanzania, and South Africa, sung in Mandarin, Spanish, Hebrew, Swahili and Zulu. These are songs of praise bursting with positive energy, dynamic contrasts, captivating solos, exciting percussion, and a wide range of layered vocal textures.
