Watertown Fire Department Teams with Domino’s During Fire Prevention Week

The following announcement was provided by Domino’s:

Watertown Domino’s, located at 111 Arsenal St., and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are teaming up with Watertown Fire Department to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 6-12). On Oct. 9 from 5-7 p.m.

Anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free.

NEW LOCATION: Final Summer Concert Features Country Band & National Farmers Market Week

Southbound Train will perform in the last Watertown Summer Concert of the year. NOTE: Wednesday’s rain will move the final Watertown Summer Concert indoors in the Watertown Free Public Library. Earlier, Town officials planned to hold it outside, but the decision was changed. Head down to Saltonstall Park Wednesday to see the last free summer concert of the year, and celebrate National Farmers Market Week at Watertown’s own market. The seven-piece country band Southbound Train will perform high energy, vocal-oriented songs, both past and present.

Local Community Farm Celebrates 25 Years With Dinner

The following information was provided by Season to Taste:

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Season to Taste, the only chef-driven catering company in Boston, will partner with Waltham Fields Community Farm to celebrate 25 seasons of farming with a spectacular farm-to-table dinner. 

Season to Taste’s Executive Chef Jason Lord will lead the multi-course dinner in the farming field, where many of the fresh ingredients are grown.  During the evening, guests can enjoy music by Somerville musicians, Banjovillian, and toast to 25 years with a selection of Might Squirrel Brewery and Cambridge Brewing Company beverages, rosé wine and seltzers. 

Season to Taste has prepared a menu that will include smoked pork shoulder and tofu, as well as three vegetable dishes to highlight the week’s harvest, and seasonal fruit with fresh whipped cream for dessert. Season to Taste Catering believes in high-quality farm fresh ingredients and strives to promote local farmers and highlight the simplicity of good summer produce. All “Supper on the Farm” proceeds support Waltham Fields education and outreach programs, which provide hands-on outdoor education programs and increased access to sustainably grown, local food to neighbors in need of greater nourishment. Watertown Farmers Market Features New Vendors, Entertainment

The Watertown Farmers Market will have a couple of new vendors this week, and entertainment for shoppers. The Watertown Farmers’ Market is held Wednesdays 2:30-6:30 p.m.(Closing at 6:00 p.m. in October) from June 12-Oct. 9. Saltonstall Park (Corner of Main St. & Whites Ave. next to Town Hall, 149 Main Street).

Stock Up for the Fourth of July at the Watertown Farmers Market

The Watertown Farmers Market will be in full swing on Wednesday, July 3, and shoppers can get meats and veggies for the grill, ingredients for salads and the kids can enjoy an Independence Day craft. The market will be open on Wednesday, July 3, from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Saltonstall Park (next to Town Hall). The organizers of the Watertown Farmers Market provided the following information:

Pick up tips, chops, sausages, dogs, and more from Lilac Hedge Farm, all perfect for the grill. And let’s not forget about the veggies such as this Grilled Zucchini and Summer Squash Salad or this Grilled Beet Salad with Caramelized Citrus. Guest vendor, B – Organics, will be selling produce bags to keep those veggies fresh until you’re ready to use them.

Watertown Farmers Market Has New Day, New Location & New Vendors

Pick up some peaches this week at the Watertown Farmers’ Market. The Watertown Farmers Market will open for the season on June 12, and will be in a new spot, on a new day and have new vendors joining many of the favorites from prior years. The market will now be held on Wednesdays at Saltonstall Park, next to Town Hall, 149 Main St., Watertown. The market runs June 12 to Oct. 9, rain or shine, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. (closing at 6 p.m. in October).
