Watertown historian and author Marilynne Roach who has researched the Salem Witch Trials recently testified at the State House for a bill that would exonerate the eight people, including two with ties to Watertown, found guilty of being alleged witches before the Salem 1692 panic.

It’s the last weekend in April, and the earlier showers have brought out plenty of flowers already. I don’t have any Friday events, so simply hit the local streets to smell the flowers, view the YardArt and stretch your legs. All day Saturday there is a pottery sale at Indigo Fire Pottery Studio. They have a special discount on Intelligentsia coffee if you buy a vessel to put it in. Saturday evening you can join in the celebration of a new opening at the Armenian Museum of America. Check out this enticing example of the art of artist Varujan Boghosian in this combination portrait and landscape. Sunday afternoon, if the weather looks enticing, enjoy the brilliantly flowering trees at Mount Auburn Cemetery while you learn about the Shakespeare quotes on the gravestones and monuments. One is for the brother of John Wilkes Booth. Also that afternoon is a creative movement workshop with Tiffany Sankary, that looks like it might be good for my stiff upper body. View art, buy art, hear about the ancient art of poetry, and move as art. May the art be with you!

Proposal to Add Staff for Second Ambulance Will be Discussed by Council Committee

The Watertown Fire Department has requested adding enough paramedics to run a second ambulance. Currently, the Fiscal Year 2026 budget does not include the money for the eight paramedics, but the request will be discussed by a City Council committee.
