Special Education: Director of Student Services to Step Down, Plans to Improve Program Discussed
Watertown’s Director of Student Services will be stepping down before the beginning of school in September. The announcement came after parents of students in the special education program aired their complaints at the second straight School Committee meeting. A group of more than 100 parents also signed a petition requesting that the School Committee take a vote of no confidence for the Director of Student Services, who oversees the special education program.

A group of students interested in politics and issues facing Watertown and the country has formed the Youth Political Action Committee or YPAC. Along with trying to get Watertown High School students more aware of politics, the group has taken on issues and next week will host a forum on one of them.

BOSTON – When Oliver Ames took a one point lead over Watertown into the fourth quarter it looked like Tuesday’s Div. 2 girls baskebtall state semifinal would be a nail biter. The Raiders had other ideas, however, and celebrated the 48-34 win on the floor of the TD Garden.
