As the temperatures rose to dangerous levels in the first week of July, a group in Watertown leapt into action delivering air conditioners to those who need them, and which had been donated by other residents.

The Watertown Power under 14 soccer team traveled to Connecticut this month and came home after coming in second place.

The Watertown field hockey team is on the verge of history. With two wins this week, the Raiders need one more win to tie the all-time national high school unbeaten streak of 153. Monday they play at Wilmington for the tie, then – if victorious – the Raiders return to Victory Field on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. to take on Melrose to seek to set the new record. This week, Watertown had a pair of shutouts. On Monday, they traveled to Burlington and came home with a 6-0 win.
The five people running for School Committee reacted to several questions during the first School Committee Candidate Forum hosted by Watertown News on Thursday night.
The Planning Board held the first public hearing on Wednesday about potential changes to the east end of Arsenal Street that would expand possible uses from industrial to include retail, office and residential. The proposal concerned and confused many residents who attended the meeting.
