Watertown’s top elected position is on the ballot for the Nov. 7, 2023 Municipal Election. The two candidates running for City Council President responded to a series of questions posed by Watertown News. The race features incumbent Mark Sideris, and former Council President Clyde Younger. Each seeks the two-year term on both the City Council and as a member of the Watertown School Committee.
The five candidates running for Watertown School Committee responded to a series of questions from Watertown News. Two incumbents seek re-election, and three candidates seeking a seat for the first time. Three four-year seats on the School Committee are up for re-election this year in the Nov. 7, 2023 Watertown Municipal Election. Both David Stokes and Kendra Foley seek another term on the School Committee, but fellow incumbent Lindsay Mosca announced in June that she will not be running in 2023.

While the Watertown High School field hockey team has made headlines with a national record setting effort and an undefeated record, two other teams made the MIAA state tournament, and other individual Raiders are competing at the State Level. Volleyball
Watertown’s girls volleyball team finished 7-15 and made the State Tournament for the second time ever. The Raiders are ranked 31st in the MIAA Div. 3 State Tournament and be the home team in a preliminary round game against St.

Part hockey clinic, part history lesson, part Boston Bruins tribute, and part airshow — last week’s opening celebration for the outdoor rink at PFC Richard Moxley Playground was a community celebration. Residents young and not so young crowded around Watertown’s newest recreational facility, the multi-sport rink, basketball, and tennis/pickle ball court at Moxley Field. One of the big draws for the Oct. 25 event was the Boston Bruins Foundation, as well as a Watertown hockey legend.
The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Oct. 16, 12:45 p.m.: A person walking a dog on Arsenal Street noticed that the sign in front of The Gables apartments was missing, and there was graffiti on the rear of the property. Police were alerted. Oct.

The second annual Watertown’s Got Talent drew singers, dancers, and musicians of all ages this week. The Oct. 24 event raises money for the Watertown Community Foundation and was held at a stage on the River Green at Arsenal Yards. And the winners are ….

Developers of the project at 104 Main St. knocked a story off the project and widened the public walkway from Main Street to Pleasant Street, and received approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Eileen Donahue, the longtime head coach of the Watertown High School field hockey team, has reached the latest milestone in her Hall of Fame career with her 750th career win. The Raiders defeated Wakefield 7-0 on Thursday. With the win, Donahue’s career record improved to 750-34-46. She has coached the Raiders for 38 seasons.
