Man Arrested After Pushing Police Officer, Attempts to Flee Mall

Watertown Police arrested a Brighton man who allegedly shoved an officer and tried to run away after he appeared to be passed out from taking drugs. On March 7 at 7:03 p.m. an officer went into the bathroom near the food court in the Arsenal Mall, where a man was passed out and appeared to have blood on his face, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “The officer asked if the man needed medical assistance. The man shoved the officer to the ground, and ran out of the bathroom,” O’Connor said. “The officer observed that the arrestee had likely ingested narcotics.”

Feb. 25, 7:10 p.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a car run a red light going from Mt. Auburn Street to North Beacon Street. After stopping the vehicle, the officer checked the driver’s record and found he had a suspended license.

Feb. 12, 1:20 a.m.: An officer pulled over a Dodge Challenger after seeing it run a red light at Arsenal Street and Irving Street. After checking the driver’s record, police discovered he had a suspended license. The 28-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of a red light violation and driving with a suspended license.
