Driver Loses Control, Damages Fence of Arsenal on the Charles

Watertown Police arrested a man who lost control while driving along Arsenal Street in the early hours of March 20 and damaged the iron fence of the Arsenal on the Charles. The man, identified as Rigoberto Zuniga, was involved in the one-car accident on at 4 a.m. on the 20th, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident Arsenal Street by School Street,” O’Connor said. “The vehicle struck the iron fence and took out three panels.” When police interviewed him, Zuniga said he did not have a Massachusetts driver’s license.

Video Games Strewn Across Arsenal Street as Suspect Flees Best Buy

Video games littered Arsenal Street after a shoplifting suspect tried to get rid of merchandise he allegedly stole as he ran from Watertown Police. 

On March 10 at 3:37 p.m., security at Best Buy flagged down a police officer after spotting a man putting an Xbox game system in his backpack, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. The suspect, later identified as Luis Rolando Triolet Jr., was then seen going into a bathroom and security believed he had numerous pieces of merchandise. “The officer observed two males in the bathroom, one matching the description of the suspect,” O’Connor said. “When the officer spoke to the arrestee he became nervous, his hands were shaking, he began sweating. The suspect began walking away and then ran out the front door and into traffic on Arsenal Street.”

Man Arrested After Pushing Police Officer, Attempts to Flee Mall

Watertown Police arrested a Brighton man who allegedly shoved an officer and tried to run away after he appeared to be passed out from taking drugs. On March 7 at 7:03 p.m. an officer went into the bathroom near the food court in the Arsenal Mall, where a man was passed out and appeared to have blood on his face, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “The officer asked if the man needed medical assistance. The man shoved the officer to the ground, and ran out of the bathroom,” O’Connor said. “The officer observed that the arrestee had likely ingested narcotics.”

Feb. 29, 9:45 p.m.: Police served a warrant and Edward Road. The 43-year-old Watertown man was arrested on the warrant from Waltham District Court related to an OUI charge. March 2, 4:50 p.m.: A woman was spotted placing several items into a shopping cart at Target and walked out of the store without paying.

Feb. 25, 7:10 p.m.: An officer patrolling in Watertown Square spotted a car run a red light going from Mt. Auburn Street to North Beacon Street. After stopping the vehicle, the officer checked the driver’s record and found he had a suspended license.

Feb. 18, 10:31 p.m.: A man was spotted in a parking lot on Woodview Way, and when police checked his information they found he had an outstanding warrant. The 28-year-old homeless man was arrested on the warrant from Lynn District Court for four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault and battery. Feb.

Feb. 12, 1:20 a.m.: An officer pulled over a Dodge Challenger after seeing it run a red light at Arsenal Street and Irving Street. After checking the driver’s record, police discovered he had a suspended license. The 28-year-old Watertown man was arrested on charges of a red light violation and driving with a suspended license.
