Woman Busted for OUI After Hitting Parked Cars

A woman faces drunken driving charges after allegedly crashing into two parked cars. Watertown Police received a report of an auto accident on California Street on Oct. 18 at 1:55 a.m.

“Officers found a car facing the opposite direction and two parked cars with excessive damage,” said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The car was heading westbound on California Street when it hit the two vehicles, Lawn said. Officers detected an odor of alcohol on the breath of the driver, identified as Corinne Tess Cartwright, 23, of Watertown.

Man Stopped in the Middle of Breaking Into a House

Watertown Police caught a man stealing items from a house on Bromfield Street. On Oct. 8 at 12:41 a.m., a man was spotted carrying a TV out of a home on Bromfield Street, and when police arrived they saw a man walk back into the house, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. “Officers surrounded the house and rang the doorbell but there was no response,” Lawn said. “They heard someone dragging something across a floor and saw a man’s head pop up.”

Man Arrested for Having Multiple Warrants

Police went to Church Lane early on the morning of Oct. 1 for a disturbance involving two men, one of whom was wanted on multiple arrest warrants. One of the men gave officers a false name, but police were able to determine his real identity, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. They also found he had three outstanding warrants. Adam J. Swindell of Watertown was arrested on three warrants from Salem District Court – one for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one for threatening to commit a crime and one for shoplifting, Lawn said.

Sept. 16, 6:42 p.m.: Police were send to Main Street for a report of a man who was possibly intoxicated. They found a man who was taken into protective custody because he was intoxicated and they discovered he had a warrant. The 53-year-old man from Newton was arrested on the warrant from Boston District Court for larceny.
