A giant jack-o-lantern man looked over the cars at the Lil’ Monstah Joyride at Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion on Friday. The place to be in Waterown on Saturday night was the Commander’s Mansion for the Lil’ Monstah Joyride. The Commander’s Mansion decked out for Halloween during the Lil’ Monstah Joyride. Hundreds of cars filled with kids cruised by the Halloween themed displays put on by the Commander’s Mansion, the Recreation Department, the Watertown Fire Department, School of Rock and Watertown Savings. I smell children … packed into cars and ready for the Saturday night lil’ Monstah Joyride! Deck out your car, and drive-through the spooky streets of the Commander’s Mansion! And at the end of your ride, pop your truck for a treat from The Halloween Team at the Watertown Recreation Department!

This year they will have the Lil’ Monstah Joyride — a drive-by Halloween celebration. The Commander’s Mansion, the historic home owned by the Town of Watertown, and the Town of Watertown will team up for the no-contact event. They area seeking local businesses to join in the fun and take on one of the scenes for Watertown families to drive through during the Oct.

Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion will show people how they can hold a wedding during COVID-19 at “Gossip!” The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, and include “nibbles and sips.” The Commander’s Mansion sent out the following information:

You will walk through a micro wedding at the Commander’s Mansion as if you were a guest. Experience all the components of a wedding day — ceremony, cocktails and reception — and hear from industry professionals along the way.

Couples can find out about having a wedding at Watertown’s Historic Commander’s Mansion during COVID-19 at and event called “Gossip!” The event will be held on Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the mansion, 440 Talcott St., Watertown (off Arsenal Street), which is owned by the Town of Watertown. Under the state’s COVID-19 rules numbers of people are limited, and the organizers will show attendees about what a petite event during the pandemic looks like.

Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion. Head to the historic Commander’s Mansion and network with people from Watertown businesses and other local groups at the After Hours event. The Watertown Business Coalition’s recent Coffee Connect drew nearly 50 people, and the group invites people to its next event on Thursday, March 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Watertown Commander’s Mansion, 440 Talcott Avenue, Watertown (the Arsenal on the Charles). Network with others from the Watertown business community, enjoy appetizers and a cash bar, and hear about development and the Arsenal Corridor. The event is free.

Santa Claus was busy Thursday night at the Commander’s Mansion Christmas Celebration. The Commander’s Mansion decked the halls for the annual Christmas Celebration on Thursday night. Lights decorated the Commander’s Mansion inside and out. The line to visit Santa Claus stretched out the door, through the upstairs hallway and into two more rooms. Visitors could also spend time with Mrs. Claus. Dancers from Ballroom in Boston performed for the attendees of the Commander’s Mansion.

Watertown Commander’s Mansion Hosting Christmas Celebration

Watertown’s Commander’s Mansion will host a Christmas Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The mansion, located at 440 Talcott Ave. (next to the Arsenal on the Charles) will welcome Santa Claus at 5:30 p.m., and there will be music and entertainment, plus photos with Santa from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Claus will be reading stories, and attendees can grab some hot cocoa and cookies at Rudolph’s Cafe. The event is sponsored by Ballroom in Boston, Kataram Studios, the Watertown Police Department and Watertown Savings Bank.
