No Kings III Protest Draws a Crowd in Watertown Square

The following information was provided by Indivisible Progressive Watertown:

Approximately 1,300 people of all ages attended the No Kings III Protest in Watertown Square which was sponsored by Indivisible Progressive Watertown. Music was provided by Watertown’s own band “Rosie and the Resisters.”

An inflatable frog, a dinosaur, and an Octopus were all spotted on the Watertown Delta. State Senator William Brownsberger and State Rep Steve Owens as well as several Watertown City Councilors attended the protest. Many creative and thoughtful signs were seen and a lot of support was heard in the form of honks from passing vehicles.

Get ready for NO KINGS III on Saturday, March 28th which will be a national day of peaceful non-violent resistance to the policies and actions of the Trump administration. Make a plan to be part of the largest day of protest in American History. 

Indivisible Progressive Watertown will host a Stand Out in Watertown Square from 10-11:30 a.m. Bring a sign, bring a friend. LETTER: Watertown Group Holds De-ICE Citizens Bank Protest

The following piece was provided by Indivisible Progressive Watertown:

On Saturday, March 7th, 25 members and friends of Indivisible Progressive Watertown joined in solidarity with the De-ICE Citizens Bank coalition to protest Citizens Bank’s financing of Core- Civic and the GeoGroup. These two corporations are responsible for building 90% of the private prisons and ICE detentions centers across the United States. 

On March 7th over 71 protests were held in 13 states around the northeastern and midwestern United States calling upon the Citizens Bank administration to end ties with CoreCivic and the GEO Group immediately. Both companies have a long history of neglect and mistreatment of people incarcerated in their facilities. Emmanuel Damas, the Haitian man who was detained and died from sepsis related to a toothache on March 2, was at the Florence Correctional Center, operated by CoreCivic.

The De-ICE Citizens Bank protests are part of a growing movement to pressure Citizens Bank that began three months ago.

200 Turn Out for “Resist With Love” Standout in Watertown Square

The following announcement was provided by Indivisible Progressive Watertown:

On Saturday, February 14th, Valentine’s Day, Indivisible Progressive Watertown and the Watertown Rapid Response Network (WRRN) co-sponsored a Stand Out in Watertown Square called Resist With Love — ICE Out of Watertown. 

Approximately 200 people attended the event which included singing provided by the B-VOCAL Chorus https://bvocalchorus.org/ and a reading of the names of those killed by ICE since January of 2025. The next Indivisible Progressive Watertown/WRRN Standout is scheduled for Sat. March 14th from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed by No Kings Day on Sat.

Watertown Group Hosts Vigil in Memory of Renee Good

On Saturday morning, Jan. 10th, Indivisible Progressive Watertown hosted an emergency vigil in memory of Renee Nicole Good who was murdered by ICE agents in Minneapolis on Jan. 7th.
