Watertown Library The Watertown Library is collecting images and stories about the city’s recent history.

WFPL is embarking on a mission to collect stories and images from Watertown’s recent history, from 1950 to the present day, and we need your help! Want to volunteer for the Library and help preserve the story of Watertown’s diverse community? Join our corps of Digitization Day volunteers in 2022. Sign up now on our volunteer page.

Coming up this month, learn about the language of cults with Amanda Montell, join the Zinesters’ Club (open to teens and adults), or attend a Coffeehouse Concert at WFPL with free refreshments from O’Some Café! 

For Children

Baby Story Time
Mondays and Wednesdays | 11 AM | In the Library | A Librarian will read stories and lead activities. For babies who are not walking. Registration required.

Outdoor Story Time
Tuesdays and Thursdays | 11 AM | Library Front Lawn | Join us under the big tree in front of the library for stories and songs. No registration.

Take and Make
Take and make craft bags are now available in limited quantities on Fridays.

Zinester’s Club
Thursday, 12/9 | 6:30 PM | Teen Room | Join us for zine-making fun year-round! All ages and experience levels are welcome to come create and meet other zinesters. Email cconkey@watertown-ma.gov for more information.

Teen Arts II: Printmaking Workshop
Thursday, 12/16 | 4 PM | Teen Room | Alex of Alex Makes Art will teach us studio safety, transferring sketches onto linoleum by hand, and carving techniques. You’ll leave with a unique print made with your very own stamp! Registration required.

Magic the Gathering
Monday, 12/20 | 6 PM | Teen Room | Bring your MtG decks and battle to win booster pack prizes. Arrive early if you’d like to trade cards!

Coffeehouse Concerts at WFPL: Jocelyn Limmer
Sunday, 12/19 | 2 PM | Watertown Savings Bank Room | Boston-based singer and pianist whose songs are inspired by matters of the heart, patterns of the mind, and the sometimes-rocky journey towards self-love. Her 2019 album, As Lovers Go, is a collection of jazzy torch songs, heartfelt ballads and pop anthems.
