The following announcement was provided by Lander for State Senate Campaign:

Daniel Lander’s campaign turned in one thousand signatures from across the district to qualify for the Democratic Primary ballot on Sept. 1st. This ensures that for the first time since 2012, voters will have a real choice in who represents them in the State Senate.

“I am honored that so many people in the district have signed on to ensure voters have a real choice on their ballot on September 1st,” said Daniel Lander, Candidate for State Senate. “People across this district are ready for change and are excited about fighting for a State Senate that will take on the broken status quo, fight for working people, and make Massachusetts more affordable.”

In total, Lander turned in more than one thousand signatures, with more than three hundred in Watertown alone. To qualify for the ballot, State Senate candidates are required to turn in three hundred signatures. In recent weeks, Lander’s campaign has been gaining significant momentum. He has received the endorsement of local Watertown elected and community leaders, Mass Alliance, and more.

Daniel Lander is running for the State Senate to take on the broken status quo and make Beacon Hill work for the people. He grew up in this district and has worked alongside progressive leaders like Senator Elizabeth Warren, Stacey Abrams, and Mayor Michelle Wu. Daniel believes Massachusetts can be more affordable — and a great place to build a good life. He will tackle our housing crisis, work to transform the MBTA, and stand up to the Trump administration.

The Suffolk and Middlesex District includes all of Watertown, Belmont, as well as the Fenway and Allston Brighton neighborhoods of Boston, and West Cambridge.
