Watertown Hockey Team Keeps Dream of Winning State Title at The Garden Alive

LOWELL — All season, the goal of the Watertown High School’s boys hockey team has been “Getting to the Garden,” but the dream almost slipped away in the Final Four game against Middlesex League rival Stoneham. The coaches gave the Raiders a simple goal: win the next 15 minutes. In the first period, second-seeded Watertown (14-9-1) played a fast, flowing game, which has been very successful so far in the MIAA Div.

City Manager Candidate Screening Committee Meeting This Week

The committee screening candidates for Watertown’s next City Manager will review the process for how hiring process will proceed. The Ad Hoc City Manager Screening Committee will meet vitually on Thursday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. At the meeting the City’s consultant, Community Paradigm Associates, will review the process. After the presentation, the Committee will go into executive session to begin evaluating the candidates. The Ad Hoc Screening Committee includes: Mark Sideris (City Council President) – Chair, Vincent Piccirilli (City Council Vice President), Caroline Bays (Chair of Personnel and City Organization Committee), Steve Magoon (Acting Deputy City Manager), Deanne Galdston (Superintendent of Schools), Daniel D’Amico (Resident), and Felicia Sullivan (Resident). Watertown Hockey Off to the Final, Beats Stoneham 4-3

LOWELL — Watertown High School’s Mason Andrade broke a 3-3 tie in the third period to beat Stoneham and send the boys hockey team to the MIAA Div. 4 State Final on Sunday. The Raiders jumped out to a 3-1 first period lead with two goals from Alec Banosian and the third from Michael Cormier.

Watertown’s Hairston Looks to Keep His Pro Football Dreams Alive at Upcoming Pro Day

Bridgewater State AthleticsWatertown’s T.J. Hairston will take a shot at the NFL at a Pro Day on March 22. Here he carries the ball for Bridgewater State. Watertown High School grad and standout wide receiver T.J. Hairston hopes to take his football career to the next level, and keep his dream of playing in the NFL alive this month when he attends an NFL tryout. He has been invited by two teams to participate in the Pro Day at Holy Cross on March 22. Hairston also has lined up a tryout for a Canadian Football League (CFL) team in early April.

Watertown Boys Hockey Team Final Four Bound After Beating Grafton

After two straight dominating State Tournament victories, the Watertown High School boys hockey team found itself in a dogfight with Grafton/Blackstone Valley Tech on Saturday night. The Raiders prevailed 2-1, and will head to the MIAA Div. 4 Final Four.

Watertown Boys Basketball Team Holds On to Beat New Mission, Heads to Final Four

Charlie BreitroseWatertown’s boys basketball team celebrates booking a trip to the MIAA Div. 3 Final Four after beating New Mission 64-57. After watching a 20 point lead whittle down to five, the Watertown High School boys basketball team kept its cool and finished off New Mission in the MIAA Div. 3 Round of 8 State Tournament game Saturday night, 64-57. Seventh- seeded New Mission (11-4) dug a little into the lead in the third quarter which ended with the Raiders holding a 15 point lead, (47-32).
