Two Watertown Doctors Make Boston Magazine’s Top Doctors List

Watertown has two doctors who made the list of “Top Doctors” released by Boston magazine. 

The list of the region’s top doctors is in Boston magazine’s December 2017 edition. The Top Doctor guide names has doctors in almost every medical specialty in  several Massachusetts communities. in just about every medical specialty.  
The two Watertown doctors to make the list were David J. Cancian and Susan P. Pauker. Cancian specializes in internal medicine and works at Watertown Primary Care on Mt. Auburn Street.

Nov. 21, 2 p.m.: Police went to the home of a man they knew was wanted on warrants. The 20-year-old Watertown man was arrested on four warrants: one from Brookline District Court for shoplifting and vandalizing property; one from Cambridge District Court on two counts of breaking and entering and one count of larceny from a boat; one from Brighton District Court for one count of resisting arrest and seven motor vehicle offenses; and one from Roxbury District Court for shoplifting. Hundreds Greet Santa Claus at 2017 Watertown Tree Lighting

Hundreds of small children, parents and people just looking to share the Season’s spirit converged on Watertown Square Friday evening for the annual Watertown Tree Lighting Ceremony. Anticipation was thick in the air as youngsters waited for Santa Claus. At about 5:15 p.m. he rolled up in a Watertown Fire Department SUV with red and white lights flashing. Children looked on in awe as he waved and patted a few kids on the head. Santa posed for some pics before heading over to the tree decorated in Christmas lights and ornaments.

Contest Looking for the Best Holiday Lighting and Decorations in Watertown

Proud of your holiday lights display … Do you have the most Christmas spirt – enter the Watertown Holiday Lighting and Decoration Contest! Once again, Watertown Real Estate Broker Bob Airasian will sponsor a contest for the best decorations in town. Register Now for Spring Watertown Youth Baseball, Softball and Challenger Leagues

Opening day is still a few months away, but now is the time to register for Watertown Youth Baseball, Softball and Challenger Leagues. 

According to organizers,  Watertown Youth Baseball, Girls Softball & Challenger offers both softball for girls and baseball for girls and boys who reside in Watertown, Massachusetts. Only Parents or Legal guardians can enter information for this program. You will need to register each of your children in one of the following divisions:

Softball – coach pitch, 10U, 12U,14U

Baseball (Little League) – Tee Ball (4/5 year olds), Rookies (6/7/8 yr olds), Minors (8*, 9-11 yr olds), Majors (10-12 yr olds)

Baseball (Babe Ruth) – 13U and 15U team(s)

Baseball (Challenger) – Special Needs 8 thru 21 yr old

Fire Damages Kitchen in Watertown’s Flaming Pit Restaurant

A fire broke out in the kitchen of the recently opened Flaming Pit restaurant on Arsenal Street, Thursday evening, but Watertown Firefighters were able to stop the fire before it damaged the building. Employees were in the restaurant at 222 Arsenal Street when the fire started, shortly after 8 p.m. on Nov. 30. “The fire started in the hood above the cooking area,” said Watertown Deputy Fire Chief Dan Tardif. The flames spread through the restaurant’s duct work, and got up to the ducts on the roof, Tardif said.

Donate to the Watertown Police Toy Drive at Locations Around Town

The Whooley Foundation, named after a former Watertown Police officer, is collecting toys and donations for children in the community. The donations go to children and assist more than 100 in the community each year. The Foundation’s motto is “Our Mission is to ensure that no child in our community goes without the joy of opening a present during the holidays.” Unwrapped toys, gift cards and monetary donations for children from infants to teens will be accepted through Dec. 20 at drop off locations around town:
