Police Log: Man Arrested for OUI; Church, Diner Broken Into

The following information was provided by the Watertown Police Department. Arrests
Sept. 29, 11:23 p.m.: A hit-and-run accident occurred at Union Street near Eliot Street, and when police arrived they spotted a damaged vehicle a little way down the street and the driver inside. He told police he was reading a text when he hit the vehicle. Police performed field sobriety tests.

WHS Sports: Field Hockey Beats Belmont, Boys’ Soccer Scores Big Upset

Archrival Belmont put up a struggle for the Watertown High School field hockey team, but they could not stop the Raiders from recording their 150th straight unbeaten game. 

The game Thursday was played in Belmont and the Marauders kept Watertown off the board for 23 minutes until senior Michaela Antonellis scored off a pass from Maddie Leitner, according to the report from The Belmontonian. Senior Ally McCall made it 2-0 on a counter attack with 26 minutes left in the second. Then, Leitner got a goal of her own off a corner with 21 minutes left. Antonellis scored her second with 12 minutes left in the game and secured Watertown’s 12th win of the season. Belmont forced Raider goalie Jonna Kennedy to stop two shots.
