Watertown Voter Information for the 2022 Mass. State Election

The City of Watertown provided the following information:

The Massachusetts State Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters will be asked to choose candidates for elected office, as well as to weigh in on four ballot questions. Ways to Vote in the November Election

Early vote in-person

Absentee ballot (must meet certain requirements)

In-person voting on Election Day

Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. is the last day to register to vote or update party affiliation for this Election. The City Clerk’s Office will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on October 29 to facilitate registration. Voter Information & Links

To request an early vote by mail ballot:

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot was Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 5:00 PM.Your ballot request must be signed by the applicant in order to process your request.Your ballot will be mailed to the address you put on the application.

Register for the 17th Annual Donohue’s Turkey Trot, Race Benefits Boys & Girls Club

Donohue’s Bar & Grill will continue a Thanksgiving tradition with the running of the annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Watertown Boys & Girls Club. 

Entry costs $40 for preregistration, $50 on race day, and the race begins outside Donohue’s at 87 Bigelow Ave. in Watertown. Click here to register. Donohue’s provided the following details:

Non-Profits Can Record Video Announcements at Watertown Cable Community Production Day

WCA-TV is hosting its first, revamped Community Production Day on Friday, Nov. 4 from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. for all non-profit organizations in Watertown! If you’re familiar with our previous PSA Days, you’ll notice that this day is very similar, but with a few extra additions! As always, the staff here at WCA-TV will work with you to produce a video announcement free of charge but this time you will also get the chance to collaborate with other community members in the studio! All videos can be up to 90 seconds in length and will be shown across all WCA-TV channels.

MBTA’s Releases Revised Bus Network, Holding Public Meeting This Week

The Bus Network Redesign project has released a Revised Bus Network map. The map can be found on the project website. In May 2022, the Bus Network Redesign project released a Draft Bus Network Map and sought public feedback. Over the spring and summer, we received over 20,000 comments on the Draft Bus Network Map.

Our annual Pumpkin Carving Contest is BACK during Fall Falladays at Arsenal Yards. Pumpkins will be on display in the River Green from Friday, October 28th (at 6pm) to Monday, October 31st. Stop by, select your favs and help us carve out a winner! NEW this year! All votes will be entered to win a $100 Gift Card to their favorite Arsenal Yards destination. COMIC: See What Small Saves Has Planned for Halloween

James DeMarco grew up in Watertown and became a goaltender at age 5. It’s his life’s passion to stand between the pipes and keep the puck out of the net. Combining this with the love of cartooning Small Saves  emerged in 1991 and took on a life of his own. “To play goal–then come home and draw Small Saves — is my ideal definition of a good day.”
