Donation Drive & Free Store to be Hosted by Watertown Mutual Aid

Watertown Mutual Aid announced it will host a Donation Drive and Free Store on Sunday, Nov. 7. The event will be at Ballroom in Boston, 100 Parker St. in Watertown. The Donation Drive will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Accepted items:

Winter coats (new/like-new)Cold-weather clothes for kids, newborn to young adult (new/like-new)Diapers and baby wipesMenstrual productsPersonal care items (shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)

LETTER: Watertown Resident Shares His Experience Voting in the Town Election

The following letter was written on Nov. 2, 2021. Dear Friends,

Re: Voter Shock! Today is Watertown Election Day, and as a civic minded individual, resident in the City known as the Town of Watertown, I did not linger in bed until my usual hour of 7:30 a.m., but rose to prepare to exercise my duty. I voted and believe that I have recovered sufficiently from my shock, that I may now share with you my experience. Things you should know:

·         Watertown once included the towns of Weston, Waltham and large portions of Lincoln, Belmont, and Cambridge.

Watertown Hosting Veterans Day Breakfast on Nov. 11th

The Watertown Veterans Services Office announced that Watertown will host its annual Veterans’ Day Breakfast on Veterans’ Day, November 11th. The event will take place at the Shutt Detachment, on 215 Mount Auburn St. The event starts at 9 a.m., with a brief ceremony followed by breakfast immediately after. Mosesian Center Hosts Musical Celebration of Exoplanet Science With Harvard Astrophysicist

Multiverse Concert Series presents their newest album by composer Dr. David Ibbett, Octave of Light, in an album release tour fusing classical music with EDM and the science of exoplanets. This project is a musical celebration of exoplanet science created in collaboration with Roy Gould of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Too small to be seen directly, most exoplanets are detected as shadows across their parent star. By analyzing these shadows, David has sonified (light->sound) their spectra into a musical language of molecules and exoplanets. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Church Watertown for Dennis Edward McDade, Jr.

Mr. McDade was a son of the late Dennis McDade, Sr. & Catherine J. (Cooney) McDade. Dennis passed away on Thursday October 28, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born and raised in Watertown and was a proud graduate of St. Patrick High School.
