Book Signing, Spider-Man and More at Comic Shop’s Halloween Event

Watertown writer and host of Drawing with Fred, Fred Grandinetti will be signing books at The Comic Stop in Watertown. The book signing will be at The Comic Stop, 134 Main St., Watertown, on Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with illustrator David Hudon. Arsenal Center Hosting Earfull, a Series with Writers and Musicians

The Arsenal Center for the Arts is proud to present another edition of Earfull – a literature and music series of “Writers Reading and Songwriters Singing”

Earfull kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the speakeasy style setting of the Center’s Black Box Theater with readings from critically acclaimed authors Dennis Lehane and James Scott and musical performances by Christian MacNeill and Jesse Dee. The series continues Tuesday, Nov. 15 with authors Tom Perrotta and Lily King and musicians Tanya Donelly and The Needy Sons. And finally, Tuesday, Dec. 13 Earfull welcomes Anita Diamant and Heidi Pitlor with musicians Dietrich Strause and Lula Wiles.

Watertown Boys & Girls Club Hosting Annual Halloween Carnival

The Watertown Boys & Girls Club will once again be hosting their annual Halloween Carnival. The Halloween Carnival will take place at the Club on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome! Event includes carnival games, prize barn, ghost walk, best costume contest, and bake sale. Cost is $2 per person with canned good, $5 per person without canned good.

Unique Interactive Art Exhibit Features Artists from Watertown, Colombia

Come to the Watertown Art Association’s first program of the 2016-17 season on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2-4 p.m. for an exciting and engaging multi-media event! Ruth Henry, art activist and musician, along with three visiting artists and curators from Colombia – Adriana Rios, Laura Tobon and Ixia Gonzalez – will present and interactive program unlike anything we have done before! The Innovation Space at the Arsenal Project (formerly Arsenal Mall), 485 Arsenal St., near the Old Navy entrance, will be transformed into an interactive Open Studio. MassPartners of the Americas is a non-profit program that connects artists from North, South and Central America together to create dynamic exchanges.

Four Watertown Artists Decorate Pianos for Art Installation Around Boston

Four Watertown artists have original creations that will be displayed around Boston in the Play Me, I’m Yours art installation featuring 60 pianos decorated by 60 artists. Ruth K. Henry, Ryan Edwards, Olivia Natale and Dawn Evans Scaltero took part in the exhibition. In addition, the head piano tech for the project is Michael Wilson of Watertown. Sixty pianos decorated by 60 local artists and community groups are now available in public outdoor spaces in every Boston neighborhood and select Cambridge locations for the public to play and enjoy Sept. 23 to Oct. 10, 2016.
