Walter J. Oates, Jr. of Watertown died on June 25, 2018 at age 93. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Virginia M. (Dunn). Walter was the loving father of Walter J., III, & his wife Carolyn of Waltham, William G. & his wife Marion of Watertown and Mary T. “Terry” Poillucci & her husband Robert of Waltham. Proud and cherished Grampy of Caitlin Oates & her husband Jeffrey Smrecek of Watertown, Timothy Oates of Brighton, Robert & Christina Poillucci of Waltham. Dear brother of the late Donald F. Oates and Dorothy Everett.

OBIT: Jean Krueger, Longtime Watertown Resident, Had a 60 Year Marriage

Jean Marie Krueger was born in North Attleboro to her parents Merriam (Nana) and John (Gubba) Lutz. Jean grew up as a child in Milford and at 14, her father moved the family to Watertown where he took a job at the Arsenal.After graduation, she began working in Boston as a Secretary where she was known for her fast, error free typing at John Hancock and American Express, to name just a few. She loved taking the “T” bus into Boston to shop for the latest
fashions and spend time with friends going to movies, restaurants and roller skating. Jean met Richard (Dick) Krueger from Wisconsin who was in the Navy on shore leave in Boston on one of her nights out roller-skating. They dated for some time, were soon married in Seabrook, NH, and lived in Charlestown with
other Sailors and their wives.

OBIT: Michael Beirne, 45, Father of 3, Former Star Athlete at WHS

A Funeral Service for Michael Patrick Beirne will be held on Friday March 30th,
2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home,
Watertown.Mr. Beirne, a son of Maureen Beirne-LaRose and the late Joseph T. Beirne passed
away suddenly in Brockton on Monday. Michael was 45. Michael was born in Waltham and raised in Watertown. He graduated from
Watertown High School, class of 1990. Michael was a star athlete during his time at
Watertown High especially on the football field.

OBIT: Anne Crimmins, 98, Worked in Rec Department for 44 Years, Loved Adventure

A Funeral Mass for Anne Rose (Burns) Crimmins will be celebrated in St. Luke’s
Church, Belmont on Wednesday March 28 at 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Crimmins, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Flynn) Crimmins passed
away in her home after a short illness on Saturday March 24, 2018. She was 98. Anne was born and went to Catholic Schools in Somerville, graduating with the class of 1938. A long time resident of Watertown.
