Two Watertown homes were broken into last week, and Watertown Police are investigating the incidents where valuables were stolen.

The burglaries took place on Walnut Street and in a nearby home on Franklin Street. A Walnut Street resident came home from work on Nov. 22 around 7:45 p.m. to find the rear door wide open, and the window to a first-floor bedroom window was also open, said Watertown Police Lt. James O’Connor. “The bedroom was completely ransacked,” said O’Connor, who added that other rooms in the house had items disturbed. Approximately $2,500 in property was taken from the home, O’Connor said.
